We have updated to 1.12.2 and plan to update to 1.15 after more testing!
A long awaited update and a huge thanks to Silencercomes! Couldn't have done it without him!
We look forward to seeing what these updates will bring to the labyrinth, and hope to see you soon!
On a side note, development has begun (or continued rather) on a new maze series, so keep an eye out for that!

Due to some issues faced a couple years ago, the Labyrinth of Sordrin went down for quite a while. However, it overcame that hurdle and has had little downtime since then. But, due to the initial downtime, it lost a lot of players who never realized it came back up.
Just letting those of you who are considering coming here to know that there are people who still come on, the server isn't dead just yet. It's not a huge amount of people right now, but I can definitely see this server growing again once people give it a second chance.
That having been said, give it a chance! It may still be on 1.8, but that doesn't make it any less of an amazing experience. It really is a server and community unlike any other, with not only a massive (3100x3100) maze, but puzzles, traps, parkour, and amazing custom-made plugins that you won't find anywhere else! It will be a challenge, but there are plenty of people willing to help if you need it. Don't hesitate to ask if you need any!
The server is MANY minecraft versions behind. Only a select few people still play in the 1.8 versions. These versions lack quality new features and gameplay. So people just sort of move on and are discouraged to downgrade every time they want to play a certain server (and just choose otherwise).
I'm not saying updating it would mean you need to re-balance the pvp, there are ways to essentially have the old pvp behavior, I wouldn't even be surprised if a hybrid minecraft version ended up working well enough with the current plugins and whatnot instead of actually updating.
I used to LOVE this server. I still want to come back and beat it some day. It saddens me the hub is now gone. And there is almost never anybody on.
My suggestions for Sordrin is to attempt to sell the server / world saves/map, to a major server network. Like Hypixel or Mineplex. Don't let the many, many hours I'm sure you put into this go to waste. Doing so would get it played. I'm sure others will love it just as much as I did.
What exactly is it about 1.8 that you just can't live without?
