They Fear The Light - Zombie Survival Server (Demo) Minecraft Server
They Fear the Light is simple open-world Zombie Apocalypse map made with custom resource and data packs.

Inspired by DayZ, The Last of Us, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R, this gamemode is highly atmospheric, tense, and features a many new mechanics built entirely using vanilla (no plugins or mods needed.)

This is the Demo Version of the map, which features a much smaller world and no hardcore mode.


Gameplay Objective
Survive by any means necessary, and attempt to clear the island of violent raiders and the undead.
Scavenge for supplies, build simplistic bases, and fend off attacks.

System Requirements
- Required: Enabled Server Resource Packs (otherwise textures will look strange)
- Recommended: Minimum 6g RAM and Optifine
- Recommended: Play alone in the dark, with high volume. Disable music, enable all other sounds.

Rules
No real rules at the moment, purely an experimental map. Kill, grief and talk trash all you want.

Okay, so the FPS stutters with optifine reduced but didnt stop 100%.

Honestly? Really fun. Just a lack of players. FPS stuttering issues are fixed with Optifine, which albeit confusing at first to download, the community helped. Just made this account to post this, and hopefully learn more.

I'm working hard to try and find ways to optimize the map without reducing the content. I'll be trying my best to get rid of any FPS issues asap!



I'm working on some advertising upgrades to bolster player activity as well. Hope to see you around!

I also suggest more building/loot spawn types, weapon and armor variation, and a discord. :p

Or maybe, I simply did not travel far enough, since from the outskirts I saw only craters. Are there more buildings other than skyscrapers?
