I was worn as I stared into the chest I was neeling against. This was the chest I never opened, the one with the bad memories sealed and inclosed for all eternity. Inside the chest was a single outfit; a uniform from the war. There was a name tag pinned to it with the name Crystal.
     Crystal is my name. This is my war uniform. These are my bad memories, of lives lost. The war had ended a mere 13 years ago, and we won, but the land had been destroyed. Which is why me, and my 11-year-old daughter, lived deep underground at level 12 with obsidian walls 3 blocks thick to keep radiation out. Nuclear radiation could kill a person in one fell swoop, and it doesn't wear away for a long time.
     "Hey Mom what are you looking at?" My daughter Emily entered my room. She doesn't know about any of this.
     "Nothing!" I quickly closed the chest, and looked over at her confused face.
     "Then if it's empty, why won't you show me?" She had outsmarted me big time.
     "Fine." I opened it back up and she looked inside. "I... have something I need to tell you." And then I went deep into story mode.


*This next section takes place 15 years in the past*

     It was 3 years ago that the war began, and me, and my best friend Snow, and all the other soldiers that were with us were tip-toeing along the forest grass, in and out of trees in our way. 
     "Hey a lake!" Snow called to the group. "Let's take a break and have a drink!" Snow was wise about suggesting the break, we'd been walking through this forest for 6 hours today, not even thinking to sit down for a minute and have a little rest. So we sat and we cupped our hands into the water and sipped a drink.
     Snow if you could describe her in three words it would be: pretty, ambititous, and wintery. With her long dark brown wavy hair and crystal-blue eyes, she was a sight of awe. I had pulled the locks of hair that normally sat on the front of her body to the back of her hair, where i neatly braided them together and fastened them with a hair clip made of ice, that I widdled myself. Snow was an adventurer, and the one who convinced me to join the army. I didn't fight much though, I was a clothesmaker and a nurse, and I had only been chosen to come on this mission to heal the wounded. Snow loved, well, snow. She's the one who had come up with our best battle strategy yet; tnt hidden in snowballs. We had gotten into many a snowball fights with our enemies, and even if they watched Snow make a snowball they wouldn't see her insert the tnt. They just figured we had epic snowball-making and throwing abilities. 
     "C'mon let's take a selfie!" She called to me as she took out her camera. The camera made a snap sound as it loaded the picture.

     "Cute!" I commented as we started back up the trail.

     It was ten minutes 'til nightfall and me and Snow were camped in a dark oak tree along with the rest of the troop. Everyone passed the time by reviewing their parts of our plan except me, because I was an 'emergencies only' kinda person because I only went onto the battlefield to retrieve a dead soldier, and most people would probably survive. Probably.
     "Okay Kyle, go out there and give it your all!" The commander called and one soldier left the tree. Everyone was watching him through the leaves. Kyle was building a tnt cannon, and only stopped to fire an arrow at anyone shooting at him. He assembled it, fired some tnt, and then ran off towards the forest, until he was shot in his right foot. Another nurse that wasn't me went out of our hiding place into the battlefield and carried him to behind a tree where it was expected she would make him able to walk again.
     "Snow! Fire your amo!" The commander ordered as Snow leaped out of the tree and started throwing her snowballs at the enemy fort. They fired back with nuclear fire charges, which she dodged except one, which grazed her left shoulder. She knew the chemicals were toxic, so she ripped off the sleeve of her uniform, only some of the chemicals sinked through. At least she was okay.
     She then grabbed some tnt and charged at the enemy base, like a snow bullet. I looked away and started helping the  other nurse bring Kyle up the tree, who couldn't climb because of his injury.
     "Crystal and Louis get Snow off the battlefield!" The commander called. I had just now relized that Snow was lying on the ground helpless and probably dead.
     I climbed down the tree after Louis and we ran into the battlefield. He wasn't a nurse, the commander probably told him to come out with me because Snow was alot farther away from our base than Kyle was. Louis fired arrows as he ran and I was able to sprint ahead of him and pick up Snow off the ground. Snow was heavy, but not too bad. I carried her as Louis ran at my pace still firing arrows to fend off enemies.
     The soldiers still in the tree helped us get Snow up and then we climbed ourselves. The commander then told us that the attacks tonight were canceled due to enemy overpoweredness and we all went to sleep.

     But you can't fall asleep when your best friend is dead. In the morning we walked back to the arctic where two years later we won the war and i retreated to the unerground, had a daughter, and isolated myself from the outside world.

Back to present*

     "So that's why we live underground." Emily comfirmed as I stood up from my kneeling position.
     "Look!" Emily screamed as she pointed behind me. Someone was breaking the obsidian! We axiously waited for the block to break and when it did, the most unexpected voice popped out. "Crystal?"
     "Louis!" I exclaimed. "What are you doing here?"
     "I got you a present." He smiled. After hearing a grunt from behind him he continued. "Okay it found me and wanted me to bring it to you." Louis went into his tunnel and brought out, of all the things in in the world, Snow.
     "Wait; you're dead." I pointed at Snow. 
     "No, when I threw the tnt someone came up to me with invisiblility potion on, I knew because I saw the particles, and splashed me with something. I then fell into a deep sleep and didn't wake up until I was in my grave. So I broke the dirt blocks above me and climbed out, and when this one saw that happen he practically screamed." Snow gave Louis a playful punch.            "And we've spent the last 13 years looking for you, because Louis couldn't remember where you lived."
     "So we're wondering, could we maybe stay here for a while? Snow exploded our last house in an attempt to make a tnt cannon to kill a wither." Louis asked. 
     "Sure. Stay as long as you want." I lead them to some spare beds that I never thought would be used. "So why were you trying to kill the wither?" Now this is when I get to hear a story. 
     "Yeah Snow Bullet, explain." Louis gave a wide smile to Snow.
     "Snow Bullet?" I questioned.
     "That's Louis's nickname for me. I still haven't told him that my real name is Snowy, not Snow." She flashed him a grin.
     "Wait what?" Louis exclaimed and Snow and I burst into giggles.
     "Gee, you people are acting more like children then me." Emily said from the corner of the room.
     "That's life, young girl, that's life." Snow stated to Emily. You can predict that the conversation went on like this for awhile; until Emily fell asleep in my lap and we decided to get some shut-eye. Atleast, this story has a happily ever after. At least, until the next war unravels.....
