Well, I hope you didn't expect a high ranking for a casual polar-bear ;) It even says in the contest details that skins like this will recieve a rather lower rating in terms of concept.
I think you did really good with the shading, I like the simple style, but it lacks detail and is a bit too simple in my opinion and I think for a contest you should make your skins more detailed.
