This is my entry for the contest. In this contest there is two parts, the skin being part one.

Bloodshot.
October was nearing closer and so was fall. It was a normal day, nothing to amazing. Everything was good. I liked my simple life since it was well... simple. The only complicated was getting from my cabin in the forest to out in the open area with the rest of humanity. Anyways, I rolled out of bed and to get dressed when I heard a knock on my bedroom door. That was strange and I was sure it was my bedroom door. Who or what could be in my house? Did I even want to know? I thought over my decisions carefully; I could open the door and check or let my anxiety get the best of me, leaving whatever that could've knocked in my house or even just in my conscience after it could've left. I hated making decisions. I looked out my window after opening the currents, letting the sunlight wash over my room. Before opening my bedroom door that led into the hallway I took a deep breath.
'Inhale..... Exhale' I thought to myself while doing exactly that.
Opening the door I saw my hallway, nothing was different or messed up. Nothing unusual. So, I closed the door once again and changed into my everyday clothes. I brushed my hair out of my face as I walked to the bathroom to wash my face. Do you ever get the feeling you're being watched? Well after hearing that same knocking sound in my house I definitely feel strange. Not a good strange or a bad strange. Just plain strange, awkward, and uncomfortable. When I heard that knocking a third time, I started freaking out. I quickly walked out of the bathroom after washing my face and straight to the kitchen. To get to the kitchen I would have to walk through the living room and then I would've seen my whole house. I only had four rooms since my cabin was very tiny. Once I reached the kitchen everything was normal. Maybe it was just my imagination. Maybe I was hearing things. I could only hope that was the case. In an hour I had to leave to go into the village for firewood and to meet up with a friend. Maybe they would know what to do.
I was finally at the village after running throughout the woods. I met up with N/A. Once speaking to them about it they agreed to come back to the cabin with me. Even though I had just come from my cabin they insisted that we went back so they could check it out for themselves. I could tell N/A didn't completely believe me. So, of course, we went back to my place. Once back a red haired figure was standing in front of my small wooden cabin. Upon further inspection this figure was definitely like nothing I'd seen in the woods before. The figure seemed like an average girl other than her clothing. N/A walked up to her and I not wanting to stand there alone followed closely behind them. The figure shot a glance at us. The one thing that caught my attention was it's bloodshot eyes. It's iris' where the color of blood and even the pupils had a red hue. I froze in place as my friend was led in by the strange human like creature.
I on the other hand ran. I ran till I was completely lost but, just as I thought I was safe I heard that knocking again. I immediately looking in the direction of the sound but, just as I went to turn my head I felt my neck grabbed.
I knew it wasn't safe. I looked back and saw N/A with the same red glowing eyes. They had their arm tightly around my neck. I could only look forward as the figure at my house earlier crept slowly closer to me. Trying my hardest to struggling and get away, it was to late. My piercing scream filled the air as my eyes filled with blood. Everything was red. Pain shot up my neck and then throughout my entire body. All I could do was let it happen. I should've been more cautious.
