Bobby: This is LVEN with a breaking news report. A case of fungal infection at a local hospital has been discovered to be a new species of life. While this was a great discovery... it quickly turned into a disaster as most of the hospital became infected and overrun by the strange plant species. No survivors have been found.

In the year 2319 the human population had reached low enough levels that it was no longer the dominant species on the planet. The mysterious fungus was in fact an intelligent alien life-form with the ability to tap into the brain stem of sentient organisms.
In the storage vault, a small amount of the fungus was trapped in the golem which had been stored away after the death of Volstieg. The fungus grew slowly and eventually grew into the location of the missing power core in the golem. The foreign substance caused a small reaction which animated the golem for a short period of time. Once the golem killed the two intruders, it absorbed their blood because it couldn't find redstone. The golem is now under the control of the fungal lords and unless it can be controlled, it will hunt down and destroy mankind.
