Got the idea of what I wanted to do when the jam was announced last week; pretty simple really, just a Celestia skin with pink hooves. I had the restriction to only work on it for a single day. Haven't made anything here in a while so it was fun to sit down and focus on finally creating something.

I based this skin on Celestia's Pony Life and stop motion appearances the chibi-like style translates well into a Minecraft skin. The wings and horn had to be cut since there was no good way to implement those onto the standard player model. The pink hooves was just something I decided to add on, which I think turned out perfectly fine in the end.

The time constraint was both a good and a bad thing; for starters it pressured me to keep going and follow through with my ideas, but in the end I fell short on finishing all my plans. As I saw it, this was as a long uninterrupted creative session to challenge myself with. This clashes with my personality since I'm a bit of a perfectionist - I like to fiddle and tune something until I'm pleased with it and if I later find that it doesn't please me anymore I will change and revise it until it does. The two things I wanted to add where fetlocks around the hooves and to shading across the entire skin, making it less flat. Unfortunately these two things would have literally taken forever (or at least longer than the time I had left) with my work methods since I would have to work my way through trying ideas until it turned out good. However, I do think I picked up and learned a few things from this simply as a learning experience.
