This is Bogumil, a man from the Middle Ages who lived in the Slavic countries from Eastern Europe, and he has the joy of living. Unconcerned by the bloody battles that the Slavic countries engage in, Bogumil does his best to put his bone to the grindstone and put the bread on the table. His favorite 'hobby' is chopping wood because the sound of the axe and the reverberation of all logs chopped up energizes his well being and gives him satisfaction, but most of the time, he spends his time with his lovely wife, Ludmila, tending the crops and waiting for the grand harvest. Bogumil is not a man of arms, but when it comes for protecting his wife and his parents, brothers and sisters, Bogumil does his best in every way he can to care for his expanding family. But all in all, Bogumil's life in the Middle Ages is a pleasant tedium, yet a repetitive routine: chopping wood, feeding the animals, feeding the entire family, rolling in the hay with Ludmila, teaching children to live off the land, taking care of his old parents, gossiping with local elders, visiting great cities to trade and bargain, participating at festivals to rock on fun and boast laughter to cheer up the party, going frequently to church for meditation and prayers - simply put, Bogumil's life is enjoyable, despite the dull tedium of the Middle Ages, and Bogumil has no trouble getting on with life because he respects an old saying: "Life goes on."

Short story - the Medieval Times were spiced up with war, but most of the time, life back then was boring, dull, since people were farming and working all day to put their food on the table and enjoy life as it was. So basically, people were trying to leave a tribute for their future generations that will come to work on and continue their progress. Just like we do now with parents - they work at hard 9-5 jobs just to help us get our own future: have a job to get us loads of money, have us finish a college in the domain we like, establish a prosperous family and continue the legacy of our parents - so that in the end, we have a happy life, founded onto the pillars that our parents put or will put in for us, meaning that we need to adapt, to be patient, to persevere, to work hard, to embrace change, to let go of everything and finally, to love our families. The Medieval Times always teaches us about good deeds and evil deeds, and even more, about life without TV, Internet or any kind of sophisticated technology that envelops our known world.
