A magnificent trading ship, carrying pleasurable amounts of gold and silver, sailed across the calm seas. An Elven female captain, by the name of Raina Cuetheil, gazed out toward the horizon, the sun had begun to rise and its light reflected on her deep blue eyes. Her dark brunette locks flowed behind her with the gentle gust of wind. She drew a deep breath, closing her eyes for yet a moment and gradually opening her eyes once again. Aye, the seas they sailed were said to be haunted by the ‘Demon of the Sea’, though the trading vessels’ captain believed in no such thing. It took bribery to gather a crew that was trust worthy and was brave enough, just as she, to sail these waters.

The Elven young woman had seen many different things in her short lifespan, and she wouldn’t dare believe in such myths. Nothing could keep her from delivering her precious cargo, or that was what she thought.

Nothing could prepare her and the crewmen for the storm that lay ahead. The storm seemed too had popped up out of nowhere, it wasn’t there a minute ago. Raina strained her eyes as she attempted the make out the dark figure that seemed to be soaring out of the storm. The vessel was quite large, though the wood was a mucky green, and its three masts seemed to be shredded and worn.

The crew gathered to the sides of their own ship, gazing out toward the vessel that seemed to be followed by the storm. Raina brushed her brown curls from her eyes, curiosity forming as she watched the other vessel near their own. She reached into her overly large pocket, carefully pulling out a golden coated telescope. The Elf held it to her left eye, gawking at the ship, her eyes widening as she noted what seemed to be a woman that stood on branch of the fore-royal sail.

The mystery woman had lengthy crimson locks of hair and a striking gold colored eye. The wind blew through the woman’s hair, relieving what seemed to be a black band that covered her other eye.

A forceful gust of wind breezed by Raina’s ear, echoing what seemed to be Bloody Naranil… Bloody Naranil… Bloody Naranil…Followed by a high-pitched screech, then another. The telescope fell from her hand as the storm neared their ship.

“Men! Ready the canons!” She screamed as she attempted to run to the bow of the ship. Raina stopped at the last mask, wrapping her arms around the wooden pole as the shady figure of the woman could be seen clearly. Raina’s eyes widened as the sound of canons went off, though they were not her own. Shards of wood flew through the wood, piercing into Raina’s skin. She toppled over onto the floor of the ship unconsciously, locks of brown curls tumbling across her face.

The yelps and screams of her own men could be heard as she came into realization that she was tied to a mask of the ship. Her arms were wrapped around the mask, her hands tied with twine that sliced into her skin. Raina’s eyes frantically traveled around the ship, fire ate away at her vessel, desiring to claim her own life. Her eyes locked on the sight of her men being thrown overboard into the stormy waters that crashed into the sides of what was left of her once stunning ship. She turned away from the sight, knowing she could do nothing.

Her eyes were met with one golden striking eye as she felt a hand grasp her neck. Who stood before her was the ‘Demon of the Sea’. Raina struggled to breath, attempting to push herself up the mask, feeling the slickness of sweat and blood on her face.

The woman who stood before her pierced Raina’s eyes for but a moment before a grim grin pulled at the corner of the strange woman’s thin lips. Raina yelped in pain as the captain of the other ship trusted a dagger into the Elven women’s stomach. The fire licked the floor where they stood, yet the odd woman before her did not react, merely dropping the dagger to the floor of the ship, her men shuffling back to their own vessel.

The ‘Demon of the Sea’ strolled off, her dusty red coat flowed behind her, the clacking of her boots echoing in Raina’s mind.

Though a booming voice could be heard “Now, m’dear, do you believe in The Demon of the Sea, eh?”

The fire begun to lick at Raina’s leather black boots, before she knew it, she was once again unconscious and deserted on her ship, left to die.
