In a world in which for ages no men has left any footprints in the sand. No spring, no fall, no summer or winter landscapes, no light bathing the meadows and cities. No flower fragrances, no smell of wet soil after the fall of rain or the smell of freshly baked bread that radiates vitality.
In a world in which every green, every life on earth, has been devoured.

In a world that only consists of oceans;
this world is the home of Eli.

Eli, … in his youth he lived with his father on an atoll - home to over 120 other men, women and children. Eli's father was a merchant and the boat Eli shared with his mother and father bore numerous small treasures, more or less precious bartering objects and trumpery from better times. Already at that time Eli knew that he wanted to be a sailing merchant, a so called "drifter". Not bound to an atoll, to a fixes drilling rig or to the congregation of several boats.

With the shores, the beaches and the continents, also the morals of many people had vanished. Anarchy ruled. Thieves, assassins, gangs craving for power and shady figures, all wanting to enrich themselves with everything passing through their fingers; burning passing boats and atolls, kidnapping women and children, killing many men. Eli remembered how his mother was screaming and crying as she was pulled at her hair and clothes unto a barque. How his father and many others attempted to put out the fires that were eating through the atoll like a disease. He also remembered how he sailed away three days later with the boat of his father and all the trumpery that was left in it. Away from the smell of ashes.

A thrill and a sharp pain drew through him.

Eli woke up drenched in sweat and blood was dripping from his arm. He was now nearly 54 years old.
Burning debris was swimming in front of him. It smelled of saltwater, fire and the ocean. His boat, all his treasures, everything was gone. Only a wreckage, planks and slices canvas was swimming around him.

He had been robbed and left there.




Backgroundstory and fictional Charakter were inspired by the 1995 Movie ''Waterworld''


This is my second Skin ever made, (except the ones i'm using by myself) so... shading is my kryptonite.
