The "Gernivians" are Authorania's Elite Special Forces unit. These battle-born citizens of Sovenshire are trained from birth to become Authorania's most elite warriors. The Gernivians have a multitude of different uniforms to fit the environment in which they are fighting, but the most famous is the Gernivian "Skulled" Uniform.

During the Blood River War, Authorania's Gernivians, and Jiarengrad's Knights of the Red Shield special forces units, penetrated Presmotopia's boarder in order to silently invade the country while their attention was focused on the warfront. The all-black uniform was useful for camouflage during night raids. The Authoranian Gernivians wore a yellow cross on the chest to represent the Authoranian banner, while the Azerath Jiarengradian Knights of the Red Shield wore a red shield emblem on their chest.

The skull mask was introduced during their first successful takeover of a Presmotopian defence camp, where the Special Forces members cut the skull faces off of their dead enemies, and wore them, to frighten Presmotopian citizens during night raids of cities and towns.

The Gernivian "Skulled" Uniform also came with a sword worn on the back, and a belt with a dagger.
