Once a humble man by the name of Irvin, he was destroyed at the age of 23. His destruction was one of murder, taken by an unimaginable force, forever corrupting and tormenting his soul. The force that almost killed him was purely using him as a 'test,' his body tossed aside as the forces' satisfaction ended the prospect of death. Trapped in a void for thousands of years, Irvin's body began to decompose. Rats from the underworld he was eventually sent to would nibble at his skin as it rotted, but he could do nothing as he was unable to move. The pain he experienced during this time caused Irvin to develop an unimaginable rage, one that is not humanly possible.
After many thousands of years, the force was defeated and Irvin was freed and returned to earth, his body sent to a group of healing monks. The monks rebuilt his body as best they could, but what they sent him out with mutilated and unrecognizable, his voice was distorted and low, often coming out as a hiss. He could no longer pronounce the name 'Irvin' so he went by the name 'Ilithiss,' his eternal rage causing him to inflict fear into the hearts of many.
