While serving as a scout in the Aquilonian army, Conan distinguished himself for his incredible combat skills. He was known to kill Picts by hundreds. Thanks to his deeds, Conan's reputation preceded him, and he rose to the rank of general.
One day, however, he decided to kill the tyrannical and cruel Aquilonian king named Numedides. He becomes the new king of Aquilonia, the most powerful kingdom of the Hyborian age, ruling his kingdom with justice and wisdom. Under his reign "no Aquilonian noble dares maltreat the humblest of his subjects."
