Every year I try to make a Tourette's Awareness skin as I developed it at 13. Personally, my Tourette's has evolved a lot over these years, sometimes they're mild/severe, sometimes they're calm. I've gotten injured and sometimes just about cried when they wouldn't stop. Thankfully they have calmed down as I've gotten older, but occasionally it acts up.
When I see people fake Tourette's or wish they had Tourette's, it hurts. It is not a fun disorder.
I joke that I was doomed from the start because my birthday just so happens to be May 15th as well.
I included sunflowers because they are a symbol of hidden disabilities. If you see someone wearing a sunflower lanyard, they may have a hidden disability such as Tourette's
If you do tic it does not mean you have Tourette's. The criteria for a Tourette's diagnosis is two or more motor tics and at least one vocal tic for at least 1 year. Keep in mind there are other tic disorders! Do not go parading about claiming you have Tourette's if you do not meet the criteria.
Very rarely do people with Tourette's have uncontrollable swearing!! This is a harmful stereotype that I hope lessens.

"Tourette (too-RET) syndrome is a disorder that involves repetitive movements or unwanted sounds (tics) that can't be easily controlled. For instance, you might repeatedly blink your eyes, shrug your shoulders or blurt out unusual sounds or offensive words.
Tics typically show up between ages 2 and 15, with the average being around 6 years of age. Males are about three to four times more likely than females to develop Tourette syndrome.
Although there's no cure for Tourette syndrome, treatments are available. Many people with Tourette syndrome don't need treatment when symptoms aren't troublesome. Tics often lessen or become controlled after the teen years." (mayoclinic)
