KING JOHN LACKLAND OF ENGLAND DOB:December 24, 1166
SUBMISSION FOR THE MEDIEVAL SKIN CONTEST DUE: February 20th, 2013
Hi guys. My first Contest Submission to PMC.
HISTORY LESSON
Introducing King John Lackland of England, the son of Henry II, the king that lived in Medieval England when they were at war with France. A tyrant to some, and a great general to others, his rule is questionable. Many say his personality got in the way of his military genius. He lost some of his land to King Phillip II of France. As the youngest of five sons, he was given the throne when Richard I died.
Wearing the red-silk robe to symbolize his wealth and blue to his royalty, he is featured in this skin as a true figure of a king. Adorned on his head is a crown filled with jewels, and around his neck a necklace encrusted with rubies.
This skin took me about four hours. I used my best techniques of shading, and a lot of editing, staring at the computer, and revising, so think I did a pretty swell job. I had to sort of guess his legs and his lower body, because the reference picture did not show it at all. The mustache was an iffy as well, since the resolution makes it almost impossible to add without making the face demented. I think this is one of the best skins I have ever made. Period. (OH GOSH THREE PERIODS IN A ROW)
