Loraine was born in the humid region of the Freeglades. Her father was a powerful sorcerer, who owned a small amount of the glades, and lead a town. Her mother died birthing her, and Loraine was raised entirely by her father. As early as her memory serves her, he pressed her to become a mage, to study magic, and follow in his footsteps. Year after year, she began to hate magic more and more, and her father caught her watching the guards practicing one each other with wooden swords.

Loraine eventually confronted her father when she was thirteen., telling him she did not want to be a mage, and wanted to fight, like the guards. Her father grew angry, and confined her to her room for two weeks. Just as angered as her father, Loraine managed to break the magic lock on her window with what little magic she knew, and fled from her home, carrying a bag filled with food and clothing.

She wandered for days, encountering only two people on the road, who were baffled by the young girl travelling alone, she began to regret her decision. She contemplated going back, when she spotted a knight in grey and gold armor being attacked by a band of goblins. He dispatched all but one, who crept up behind and incapacitated the knight.

Loraine bolted forward, grabbing a small rock mid-run. With all her force, she smashed the goblins skull with her make-shift weapon before it dealt the critical blow to the knight. The knight thanked Loraine for his life, and asked what she was doing traveling alone. Loraine told her story, and the knight decided her fate.

He took her on as his squire. She learned how to fight, and all the disciplines of a knight. After nine years, the knight stepped down from his position at the age of 40, passing his armor, sword, and shield onto Loraine. It was slightly large for her, but she was overjoyed at receiving the gift. She was knighted by the Brotherhood of the Golden Dawn, and became a Knight-Errant.

Her first action was answering her home sickness, and returning to the town her father had ruled. She found it down-trodden, and dirty. Her father had been overthrown by a Dark Templar, traitors of the order who fought rogue or evil mages. Dark Templars fought only for themselves, using their skills against magic to slay innocent mages or wizards.

Loraine, in a burst of anger, stormed the small keep that housed the ruler, and demanded satisfaction from the tyrant who conquered her home. He accepted the duel, and Loraine easily beat him, using her training against other warriors to overpower and bring him to his knees. She did not slay him, however, she clapped him in irons, and dragged him to the dungeon, where she found her father in a cell, dirty and malnourished. Loraine freed her father, who begged her for forgiveness for trying to force her to be a mage.

Loraine instead asked him to forgive her for leaving him, and restored him as the leader of the town. She said her goodbyes to her home, for the time, and set forth to do what knights do best. Helping people who need help.
