A SKIN:
It's a skin of what I was wearing today, basically, for Dinowcookie's blog event thing: http://www.planetminecraft.com/blog/a-skin-a-person-an-opinion-an-idea--a-skin-event-/
I just started using a skin program so this is kind of an experimental skin.
The skin is a boring depiction of me wearing my favorite grey jacket, colorful tank, and old washed out jeans.
A PERSON:
I'm really shy about sharing my skins, so I hope this goes okay. I had no clue how to shade or make skins until I saw a post a while back about a program. I usually just make minor edits of other people's skins for me to use for my personal skin because honestly steve is just hideous, haha. I really want to get better at shading and skinning, and hoping that if I share more it will help me improve. I've been working in my spare time on MCskin3D whenever I can, and have made 12 skins today, and I'm not stopping.
AN OPINION:
I honestly always thought that you couldn't make it in PMC, and that a few people who were really good just dominated it, after lurking for a while I found really good skinners who never got any credit, but then I saw people who were helping make them more well known, and that boosted my spirits. After seeing the nicer popular skinners and builders, it gave me hope that PMC might actually be a good site, and I've been reaping the awesome skins and builds since. Now I'm trying to put out more, and depending on criticism and inspiration to help me get better.
AN IDEA:
An Idea for making PMC better... hmm... well, why don't we encourage lurkers to start harnessing their talent and share! We could cut down the generic re-skins and get some originality in here. Even if they start out rough, like me, if we get the community to support the new-posters, we can get a lot more good content. It only takes a couple people spreading constructive criticism and tips to get more people involved and improving. There probably are way better ideas, but this one stood out to me in my mind because of how I was suddenly encouraged to post more, and think that later on it will have been an awesome choice.
