Background: Tokko Neru is the daughter of two Vos bookbinders, Tokko Chonso and Ran. She was always taught to revere the god Tiamat with the highest regard, and that He was the greatest of all the gods, as He granted the gift of Knowledge. However, she always doubted this growing up, and as she grew older she realised that her parents were wrong about their beliefs. She tried again and again to 'open' her parents' eyes, but they were too attached to their beliefs to change them, worried that they may be seen as blasphemous in the eyes of their kin. She eventually left her home in the Brittannian Protectorate, and set off on a journey to the lands outside.

Neru was met with much opposition, however. Wherever she went, she was pushed around as if she were lesser than the common rat. She was searched whenever she entered any city, the guards being rather hostile towards her about the things she carried with her. She couldn't afford food, as her coin was tossed back at her when she had tried to purchase a loaf of bread from the local bakery, the owner shooing her out as if she had a plague of some sort. She would often have to sleep in the cold, wet alleys at night, always terrified of what might happen if she closed her eyes.

One night, however, after being literally thrown out of a tavern onto the rainy streets for what must have been the fifth time that week, she finally got her big break. A man, his features shrouded by the light grey cloak he had wrapped around him, held out his hand to her. She hesitated before taking it, and he helped her up. He asked what had happened, and she told him it she wasn't sure. She had gone into the tavern and immediately thrown out for some reason. He explained to her that the Vos were not well-liked in most of the cities, due to rumours of them being thieves and pickpockets. She frowned at these accusations, and he assured her that he did not believe these rumours. In fact, he said, he thought that the Vos should be treated as equals to the Humans.

He told her of a small organisation that he was part of called the Order of Equality, which was started by a small group of her people who felt that all of the gods of Caelteria should be given respect, not just Tiamat. Other like-minded individuals, whether they be Man, Mer, or Beast, soon began to join as well, and that they all worshipped in unity. Neru immediately became interested, and asked the man where she could join.

Now in her early 20s, she is a fully-fledged Priestess of the Order of Equality, and continues to spread the Order's teachings across Alteria. She can often be found in towns helping those who are less fortunate, or bringing new members into the fold.

Appearance: Neru is of off-white fur colour, with brown eyes and a light grey muzzle and belly. Her clothing consists of tan-coloured robes with light brown, tan boots, and a light brown sash that goes around her torso diagonally.
