After the fall of the great divine race known as the Vanguard Paradox Apello, the vanguard who destroyed his own race, was slain by the champion of Arcanos, Animus Adontor. He was sealed away in a crypt known as Flame Veil Keep, where he was guarded by enthralled souls of the long dead Vanguard. These spirits guarded him for centuries before a vampire named Vasir Ingredior, cousin of Umbra Ingredior. (an ally to the clan known as The Vanguard, named after the lost race) Vasir performed the ritual known as the Blood Binding to bring Paradox back to life. After completing the ritual, Paradox regained his thrown and ruled over the realm of Valenthume once more. Before Paradox returned Vasir the the overworld he gave him his blade, the Asatru Bana or God Slayer. This blade would later be used in an attempt to slay the god Arcanos and allow vampires to rule the world.
What Vasir did with the blade mattered little to Lord Paradox, he maintained his throne and ruled over the people known as the Anraki.
