I have designed a creature instead of a pirate because I wanted to be different (I hope not a lot of people made creatures). This beast drowns ships and eats pirates and sailors as these creatures are territorial and do not like the boats disrupting their land.

Pirates fear them, and sadly many of these creatures have died because they were hunted. These creatures are now critically endangered and live in the bottom of the ocean to survive. They do not wish to die, would you?
