Romanos (Ρωμανός) III Argyros (Αργυρός) was a Byzantine and Eastern Roman emperor of the 10th and 11th centuries. He became emperor upon Konstantinos' VIII dying request to marry his daughter, Zoe Porphyrogenniti. His reign was disastrous with terrible tax reforms and a loss at Aleppo despite his ambitions. He faced several conspiracies against him and supposedly died from being poisoned or drowned in a bath.
