Background."In legend, a banshee is a fairy woman who begins to wail if someone is about to die. In Scottish mythology the creature is called the bean sìth ... and is seen washing the blood stained clothes or armour of those who are about to die."
Wikipedia, 9th of January 2012.
In traditional legend, the Banshee is always depicted as a woman, wearing either a red cape or a tattered wedding gown or dress (this because most Banshee have supposed to been brides if their husband hadn't died just before wedding). Her eyes are red and tired, for they continiously cry and mourn the death of those who pass away when they're near. They're mostly associated with the oldest Irish and Scottish clans or tribes, being heared when the chief of such a tribe is about to die.
I choose this mythological creature because their laments are what scare us the most, instead of their appearance or deeds: "When they sing, death will come and take". This knowledge makes the Banshee feared and respected, making her unique amongst mythological creatures.
