As Veronica waited for the man to show up she saw him, the assassin. She slowly walked up behind him with the knife and gently but authoritatively put the knife to his back.
"Are you the contract killer?" she asked
"Yes where's my pay?" he responded
They conversed for a little while and she found herself getting increasingly irritated with every word from his mouth but some other piece of her mind disagreed with her.
She suddenly noticed him grab a money pouch and she started chasing him jumping from rooftop to rooftop until he finally fell.
She jumped down next to him and applied pressure to his chest with her boot. As he gasped for air he barely said
"Wait,"
She released a little bit but not enough to let him go.
"What is it with you people all of you are the same just trying to get payed any means necessary,"
"Well thank you for letting me go," he mocked as he slid her foot from on top of him and stood up taking out a kukri.
She took out her dagger and started to feel fear he was obviously better at combat than him. She swung cautiously but he caught her blade and sent it skidding across the ground he now held the kukri to her neck.
"Why shouldn't I kill you," he said in a dark voice
"Try me," she responded
"Do you want to die here on the street like a dog?"
She suddenly felt overwhelmed and everything went black, she fainted.
