UPDATED PACK HERE:
http://www.planetminecraft.com/texture_pack/a-minecraft-filterpack-v15-181-mac-ready/

After going through ALL 1x1 to 16x16 (and other) texture packs I decided to just make my own based off of the original default texture.

A MineCraft FilterPack v1.0 Made By GenBOOM
Inspired by the lack of decent texture packs based off of the default pack.
Using THIS TEMPLATE and the latest MineCraft textures found in my minecraft.jar and then put through some PAINT.NET filters.

EVERYTHING in this pack has been put through a filter.
There are 0 missing items and 0 known issues as of 09/02/2011
This pack should work on Windows and MAC

Everything has gone through a lot of adjustments to be visually stimulating and at the same time easier on the eyes-
Hue
Saturation
Brightness
Contrast
Glow
Noise Reduction
However, I only edited things 1 file at a time- not each block or item at a time. So the quality will improve later on when I have time to do everything individually.

I hate it when I go into a pack and don't recognize things.
If you have this problem let me know! I will change it!
It may say 100% complete but that is for version 1.0 only! I will make a 2.0 eventually!

Any constructive criticism is welcome!
Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
-GenBOOM

Additional Notes

This is the server I play on- http://pixelcraft.me/index.php
My current project is going through every single 16x16 texture pack and giving them a thorough evaluation to determine their quality and playability and then compiling a list I will recommend that may be posted on the server website above first and I will make a blog here about it later.

Thanks for letting me know.

Yeah, as I said above- I will edit things individually and it won't look as strange.

By editing things all together I had to make some compromises- for instance redwood and obsedian are extremely dark now, even though I didn't want them to be.

Stick around for 2.0 it is going to be a much better pack.

OHH i see what you did,
it took me a bit to really see it,
but this would be perfect for someone who likes the original minecraft textures, but run kinda slow on them.

i made my texture pack so i would be able to record without much lag,
and every other simplistic texture pack had something that i didnt like about it,
so i made my own perfect one (for me),
but i would love some feedback on it! and some constructive criticism would be pretty helpful!(:

i checked out this pack,
and its pretty awesome!
i mean, its not necessarily different,
but its exactly what you advertised it as!
Great job! i havent really seen anything that you could improve on it!
Keep up the good work!

Thank you for the feedback, I really appreciate it.

I am no where near complete despite what you say.

Sorry I'm not a fan of simplistic texture packs in 16x16. If you make an 8x8 version then I will be interested.

No problem!

And i bet it would have been a lot easier to do it in 8x8..
i wasnt thinking about it at the time, oh well.
But ive been planning on doing some new kinda pack.

I'm curious,
what else exactly do you have to do?
i would like to know what you picture the final release to be looking like.

Quite a lot to do still.

This is just the Alpha stage i guess you could say- I only put about a few hours into this pack at the moment.

When I edit each texture individually I will than have to blend them so they don't look funny. As well as get rid of little problems like when you go under water you can't see very well because of how I edited the pack. water doesn't look very realistic etc. Plus I will be adding a GUI and editing weapons and armor plus a few other items for good measure. As well as better clouds and possibly particle animations.

The hardest thing about editing that I have found is getting the brown colors to match up- earthy tones are extremely difficult to get right.

etc.

As far as a final release...I doubt there will be a final release- I will keep this pack updated along with the game.

It is very different- the texture has been through a lot of filtering. I said it was based on the default pack above.

I have changed the second picture to the Default pack so you can tell the difference. You will notice a major quality improvement in-game. The default pack seems very fuzzy and faded looking in comparison.

I will add further adjustments in the future.
