We've wanted to open Bookshelves for as long as they have existed in Minecraft. Luckily, with the power of Optifine, I have developed an alternative to make this possible: Barrels! Oh yeah, there's also bookshelves for every wood type.

Yes, it's true! You can have any of these bookshelves that store items as long as you have Optifine installed (with the connected textures option ON) and this resource pack. It works by providing alternate textures to renamed barrels placed in the world (NOTE: this does not appear for the items Maybe one day...). When you break them and pick them back up, they are reusable too. Below are the names to get each bookshelf.


Oak: "Bookshelf" or "Oak Bookshelf"
Spruce: "Spruce Bookshelf"
Birch: "Birch Bookshelf"
Jungle: "Jungle Bookshelf"
Acacia: "Acacia Bookshelf"
Dark Oak: "Dark Oak Bookshelf"
Crimson: "Crimson Bookshelf"
Warped: "Warped Bookshelf"
