Before you ask, this is only for the mod More Axolotl Variants.
This is meant to be a sort-of fan-made update to More Axolotl Variants Mod. But I also have my own mod planned with some of the same textures. But it will also have a lot of extra stuff too.
I tried to make a great combo of colors while keeping it as close to the original mod as possible. I Love the original mod, it meshes with vanilla perfectly, but the textures are far from the best. Akashii_Kun_ did a great job on the Glowxolotl texture (other than that he based it off of the pre-1.18 wild axolotl if you know what that means), but the rest are outdated and/or way to similar to Vanilla. While making this I noticed that 1.19 changes the axolotl texture, but it is subtle enough of a difference that most people won't know. Hopefully I did a good enough job that it improves MAVM rather than taking away from it. If you are a Fabric user, I recommend you use Axolotl Bucket Fix. If you use Optifine, turn on Random Entity Textures. Doing either of these shows you which axolotl is in the bucket, and it's age. This is not a smiley axolotl pack, and changes as little vanilla content as possible. In fact, if you only use this pack, nothing will be different than vanilla. The preview isn't perfect, but I think it shows off the pack pretty well. I used a slightly outdated version of Complementary for some of the screenshots.

Copper Buckets version below. Some of the textures are more up to date, please be patient while I fix the normal version. Only 3 or 4 textures are still outdated in the iron bucket version. You probably wouldn't notice. I do still wanna fix them though. But if you want the already fixed copper version in the mean time, it is still available.
