I know why it's broken for many players, your naming scheme is inconsistent, some folders are named items/blocks and others are named item/block, item/block is now the proper naming scheme afaik
I do hope you update it soon with these changes! :)

for anyone who wants to fix it for themselves in the meantime:

1. open the .zip file "rope-ladders-with-vines.zip"
2. make sure the folders in both "textures" and "models" are named "item" and "block", not "items" or "blocks
3. in the "models" folder, the "item" and "block" folders should both contain a different file named "ladder.json". you may have to extract the .json files from the .zip (just to your desktop or anywhere), and then re-add them to the .zip first, otherwise the changes might not save properly
4. open each .json file in a text editor (notepad will do), then change any instances of the word "items" or "blocks" to "item" and "block" once again
   
5. it should now work in-game. if not, make sure again that all names are "item" or "block" and nothing else
