Forge broke vanilla Minecraft, can you believe that?

Don't worry, Default 3D brought the duct tape. Not really.. We just adapted to the problem..

You might be wondering: "Why Forge, what did you do?" or just simply "Huh?". Well the answer is simple. Unlike vanilla Minecraft that hides missing models coded in blockstate files, Forge doesn't.

Meaning that when a resource pack offers easy to set up, additional models for one to include manually, with blockstates taking that in account. Forge decides to attempt to render the missing models regardless, showing infamous pruple and black checkered blocks.

But worry no longer, Default 3D no longer features this "problem", the "missing" models simply got deleted. So you, the user, can enjoy shaders and other mods while still using Default 3D!

Stumbled across a new checkered block, which is very unlikely? Please contact Forge asking them why they broke Minecraft.

Can you spot the pun?

Red mushrooms have been recoded and got rid of the uv-bleeding. Not only that, they also rotate and are positioned differently ocasionally. A lot more randomness, I hear you thinking. But that's not all! There's a new red mushroom model, which is similar to the brown mushroom model, but taller and more slim.

You'll never guess what the title is all about!

It's about beds, yes.. The bed has been recoded heavily. Texturing has been redone and there is no more uv-bleeding. The bed itself has also been 'lowered' to fit the hitbox beter, as prior to this update the bed didn't have the right dimensions compared to the default one.

Not the update you had expected, am I right?

The menu screen no longer features the dull panorama included by default of a random terain.
Now, it features a fantastic view of a village and a villager overlooking his crops in an intriguing and deep fashion. This, using Default 3D Standard as the resource pack of choice!

Melon seeds now have their own model! Said model is comparable to the wheat and cocoa ones.

A pun? I don't know what you're talking about.

Mob spawners now have a fancy model! Yes, a cage. This cage isn't like any other spawner model you might have come across before. The bars themselves have multiple layers of depth, coded in a nice fashion, for that extra 'ooh' and 'wow'.

What a sad pun, right?

Wheat seeds now has its own model! There really isn't much to say about it.

Good things this version is also packed with some cool fixes like tall grass being even less choppy, item frames having proper texturing and trapdoors being slightly enlarged when in item frames.

Thirty-two by thirty-two textures?! Is Know2Good even capable of producing textures of such resolution?

Tall grass now has multiple 32x32 textures and block models. By using slightly different, higher resolution texutres, Default 3D is able to produce more natural grass waving animation that's also very smooth!

Compared to the previous tall grass animation, which was choppy and simultaneous, this new addition is at least 1% better.

Oh, the handle of the oak door has also been fixed. If you didn't notice.

Whaaa? A texture is added? I am most certainly intrigued!

Tall grass and ferns now have an animated textures, as if there's a calm breeze going throught your world every so often. It will most definitely make your world a lot more lively, soothing and enjoyable.

Wooden planks have been recoded! The level of depth each individual plank has has been slightly increased for the base model.

There's more! Much more.
Each type of wooden planks has alternative models, four to be axact! Wooden floors will appear to have a less repetative and "perfect" look. Considering individual planks will randomly appear to have a higher and lower level of depth to them, compared to the adjacent models.

Planks now also look more soothing for the eyes, as their UV-bleeding has been fixed. No 'empty' pixel will appear near the seams of the cubes of which a model is made off.

On top of everything mentioned above, Know2Good.com's page scrolling speed has been increased for a more smooth scrolling experience.

Bookshelves have been recoded! Hooray. They now feature random block models.

Huh, random block models, what could those possibly do? Bookshelves now have randomly less books in them from time to time.

insert professional grammar*. All in all, the default bookshelf has been improved quite a lot!

The beacon has been recoded! Aint that marvelous? It's now more similar looking to the default model and it featurs 3D glass effects! Even the nether star inside has been enlarged.

Oh, better glass panes! These panes have no seams at all! They connect very well and look very clean.

There is a possibility of them acting funny when placing them, but that's a very small, almost unnoticable, disadvantage in exchange for some nice glass panes.

That's quite a big list isn't it?

Yes, glass blocks do have frames, notice the less transparent edges of the texture. They now have some added depth and don't magically disappear by adjacent blocks.  This provides you with a more realistic Minecraft.


"It appears as if I dislike this new addition, Know2Good. What to do now?"

Oh, I'm terribly sorry. You can remove the models you dislike by going to:
C:\Users\Name\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\resourcepacks\§lDefault 3D\assets\minecraft\models\block
Than search for "Glass", remove all 16 search results and hurt my feelings by doing so.

If you really do dislike the new addition, please leave a comment (stating why), or contact me via [email protected]. In case this new addition is disliked by a great number of people, it will be made optional.

Even the End got an update? What could possibly be next. The End now features randomly scattered endeman particles, yes sometimes they leave a few behind. Could they be their droppings?..

THANK YOU FOR THE FORGE UPDATE! Those missing textures really bothered me when using forge. I actually made a missing texture skin a while back if you want to check that out at all.

Now for a large explaination of useful but random things: I think you should use more compressed methods for making animated texures, because I noticed that many animated textures in the pack have WAY too many frames in them, and that the mcmeta files are way too empty. Make them more interesting by using methods such as individual frametime and interpolation, a setting that adds a perfectly smooth transition between frames. I recommend you use interpolation for the ore sparkle animation to make it look prettier and more realistic. Also, please make the sparkle a bit brighter to give it a bigger spotlight so that miners in the dark can see it better and also right before they mine it. The individual frametime would be a great idea for the ores and grass so that you dont have to use the same texture for several frames JUST to extend the time for that look of the block. It might also reduce lag a bit and make the file smaller. one more suggestion, for the heavy pack, add a vine model.

Huge thanks for the UV fix of the cactus and lily pad. They really do look more "solid". Sorry if this post sounds a little rude, it wasn't meant to be. I really do like the pack, and it is my favorite. Keep up the good work!

Oh, I need to tell you that I just noticed today while playing unmoddeded Minecraft 1.8.7 that, while using Default 3D, no clouds were visable. This is most likely due to the fact that Vanilla does not support transparent clouds, and if the pack was made for Vanilla, the clouds must be either changed back to default or changed into a new shapes without transparency for them to be visable in Vanilla. Because of this issue, I've put the DISABLED prefix in front of the cloud png. I suggest it be fixed as soon as possible, since clouds are a large part of Minecraft.

Im starting to use lite so I can play without that much lag and who cares about cobblestone, at least there are other really good models like the doors. They are the most detailed I think.

Hi Know2Good !

You pack is awesome and nicely optimized ;) I only play with it now but hmmmm, the tools need some tweaking to be more "readable" IMO.

The showel for example is really hard to "read". I think there is to much levels of extrusion on it. Your first 3D for this tool (when you didn't respected the original minecraft shapes) was far better IMO^^


Note 2 : I have edge white lines problems with your pack and AA enabled. (not with default ressource pack)

If you know how to fix that without disabling AA ?... ;)

My first guess is that you're using an outdated version of the pack. The crafting table, on my end, has the most recent code thus does not have UV-bleeding.
The bed on the other hand has not yet been updated, so there might still be some flaws in it. Although, I wasn't able of recreating the thing your bed does.

The old tool models are still available in the 'additional' folder. The now one does indeed have quite a bit of depth to it, that's because shovels are just shaped that way. Take a look at it in third person, it looks magnificent.

Since I don't have the option to enable or disable anti aliasing, not even inside the minecraft files, I'm not sure if that's what causing the problems. Having no anti aliasing on would make your game pixelated regarding depth and distance.

The pack will update in a few hours, it'll include more water lily models, which are also fixed UV-wise.

he problem is the same if I force AA or Anyso filtering with Nvidia panel. The only fix is to disable AA (from optifine or nvidia panell) But I want to keep it :D

Fot the tools : I agree; the shovel is nice on 3rd person view ;) I'll keep this model but thanks for the "additional folder" tip !

My last guess is that your anti aliasing is too low, currently 8. Try increasing that number.

If that doesn't help, I can't help you any further. You're the first person having this problem that contact me about it.

I really love this pack but it would be even better if the armor was textured as well. then it would be good for pvp. but as far as building i would like to see ALL the blocks textured.

No, I'm not.

The time one spends coding a mod and the amount of downloads per update don't add up quite nicely. It's not profitable, enjoyable, etc.

Keeping the mod up to date would not be something I'd  be waiting for. You'd think being able to modify the game is a lot of fun, but really it's not. Unless you're an experienced modder.

Go to the download link, then you'll see their site, go to the first "download link" and choose one of the options, (preferably the standard version), and download that, then move that to your "resourcepacks" in the .minecraft folder. Then (obviously) go to the texture packs in the game and choose it. It will not load everything with the "mega version" or whatever it is, some will not be included in the texture pack and may crash your game...

Don't let the creator of this fool you. He keeps accusing people of  "Clicking Frenzies" when they get adware, spyware, and malware from this pack. Perhaps it is the third party advertisers, but you are CONSENTING to their terms and conditions when you allow them to advertise. If you are not reading these or if you are agreeing to them, then you are indeed at fault. Do not be avoidant. This is the same kind of thing sourceforge and filezilla does. And you're better off apologzing to these people than trying to avoid the fact that your website is hosting malicious advertising and software. Your comment made me investigate and update a few things. I came to the conclusion that, without my knowledge, the way advertisements are show on Minecraftprojects.net  has gotten more aggressive than it was before. 

E.g. New tabs opening whenever any link is clicked.

Understand that there is nearly no need for me to monitor that website, since it's a simple link to my, official, website. Yes, the website one is first linked to is not mine, thus should I not be accused for bad advertisements. Said advertisements are after all different for every user.

There were no agreements I had ever agreed to, since the webpage was not initially created by me. 

What have I changed? Well, the main image now contains information and help. It even features a giant, neon yellow, "Attention". It also tells one to close the possible new tab that opens. There now even are multiple download links to prevent people from being confused which link is the right one.

Should I feel sorry for the possible malware or problems caused by a website that's not mine, even though I'm free to use it or not? Bluntly, no. The instructions were clear and are even more clear now. Common sense would suggest to close shady or suspicious websites you're linked to, forced or not. After all, people tend to exaggerate. Especially on the internet.

Am I greedy? That's for you to think/say and for me to know. Everybody likes earning a little extra, you can't deny that. Please do understand that the website pays me a fixed amount of money, regardless of how many times links have been clicked, etc.

Perhaps this is some good news, Minecraftprojects.net will be closing, I've been told. Although the date has been deferred.

I apologize for coming on so strongly, but I am passionate about doing my part to provide a safe internet browsing experience for those who do not know how to do so themselves. These tricks they use to bait people in to spyware aren't primitave or understandable by a common web browser.

I see that it's a hosting site now. I thought it was yours. My advice would be to stop using that site and use your own site. You have creativity and credibility which shouldn't be threatened by lowly scum who risk people's privacy, security, computer, or even passwords & credit card info for personal gain.

Thank you for responding neutrally & taking the time to overview the aforementioned incident.

He probably had a clicking frenzy and clicked on the first button he came across. I, in all honesty, have no sympathy for those kind of people.

On top of that, he blames me for the trouble while the ones who caused it were an external advertiser and himself. He could contact them instead.

Not to mention the comment bellow this one...

i am using the resourcepack OCD aswell as default3d. everything stays as OCD pack except iron coal diamond and gold ore.

That's because they use custom, animated textures. Those models are coded in such a way that they'll only use the custom textures, thus can't be changed by the average thid party resource pack.

I love this pack so much! Could you add command blocks for 3D textures? And pumpkins and jack'o'lanterns as well? And, as potatoes (poison/baked) and carrots are 3D, maybe all food items? Just some ideas if you need some. Thanks as always for the wonderful pack!

This is a really excellent texture pack. Everything looks really cool. I was wondering if I would be able to use this texture pack when uploading videos to youtube. I am just starting out and I only have about 7 subs. I would obviously have a link to this page in the description. I read through the copywrite and fair use folder, but I am no lawyer and have never been very good at legal documents or script, so I am uncertain if this is restricted.

Nice pack, one of my favorites! I have a few questions:

1: What else do you have planned?

2: What are you going to do with the clouds? I see them in the files, but nothing changed in them.

3: When 1.9 comes out, will you change the look of the mobs? If so, what are you going to add to them?

4: Please cure the cactus and lily pad of UV bleeding.
