The pack is only about 70% completed, I think it's pretty clear that I'll model most of the blocks and items in Minecraft.

If only there was enough time and motivation to do so.

Actually, you can! In the Texture Pack creator/editor, you can change any block to make it look circular.

Hello Mod Creator! Whenever I destroy a block in my Survival World or an Minecraft Server, it just lags! I have OptiFine and that gets rid of it sometimes. Please reply!

To my knowledge, breaking a block could and should never cause a lag spike. You're removing one or more face (a block), that should speed up your game unnoticeably.

All breaking a block really does is adding a breaking texture to it, which also shouldn't case lag.

I don't think it has anything to do with the resource pack and therefore I can't help you solve the problem. I test every single new model and I never lag when breaking a block.

I'd suggest you read the description under 'Personalize'.

Some models are disabled in the resource due to the fact that the majority of the users might not like it. You just have to drag and drop them in the 'item" folder yourself. It's not that hard.

Is it '-Xmx#G-' or -Xmx#G-

Do the other words in my JVM arguement stay or no?

Does making my MC use more ram dangerous?

Also, is the # supposed to be changed into a number (i.e 10) or is there more to it?

Know2Good

-Xmx#G

Change your whole JVM arguments line into that single thing, because the more arguments, the more java will have to process. The -Xmx#G is really all you need.

Using more RAM isn't dangerous. More is better. Minecraft will never even exceed 1GB, but it'll run a lot smoother with more allocated to it.

The hashtag is supposed to be changed into your maximum amount of RAM memory in gigabytes. (or half of it, whatever you want)

Good to know people actually read the recommendations.

Could you make 3D models of these items, please?

- Enderportal frame
- Brewing stand
- Dead bush
- Fern
- Blue orchid, poppy, azure bluet, ox-eye daisy, rose bush, peony, large fern, lilac
- Cactus (and it's flower pot form, the same for the ones above)
- Cobweb
- Droppers and dispensers
- Iron bar
- Maybe the creeper and wither pictured sandstones, chiselled sandstone
- Pumpkins, pumpkin and jack o'lantern.

With those in 3D textures the pack would be perfect. :D

very nice, but the UV mapping on some of the models is pretty screwed up.  For example the jukebox or sea lantern.  Look at the json specification for the frame of the jukebox:
    "type":"cube", //Frame top north
        "from":[1,15,0], // from z 0
        "to":[15,16,1], // to z 1
        "rotation": {"origin": [ 8, 1, 8 ], "axis": "y", "angle": 0 },
        "faces": {
            "down":{"uv":[1,0,15,0],"texture":"#block","cullface":north},
            "up":{"uv":[1,0,15,0],"texture":"#block","cullface":up}, // UV from v zero TO V zero

Although that part of the frame is 14 pixels long and one pixel wide (asuming 16x textures), the portion of the texture it uses is 14 pixels long and zero pixels wide.

That works OK for 16x textures (the "zero" gets stretched out to one, and it's fine if that one single pixel all looks the same) but it's bad for anything that tries to parse the 3d structure, and also breaks entirely with a higher def resource pack.

For instane, when using this resource pack (for the models) together with something like this: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/resource-packs/2194765-hd-default-texture (for higher def textures) you can see how the frame texture is just stretched / distorted.

some images (note how you can make out the smaller pixels in the higher def textures everywhere but the frames, which are either completely flat or terribly stretched):
http://chattypics.com/files/framesBorked2_e6pqo0now6.jpg
http://chattypics.com/files/framesBorked1_t9s5bfh6mv.jpg

Blocks I have noticed doing this: jukebox, sea lantern, crafting bench, note block.  There are probably some others.  Also, with the noteblock at least, the frame is pulling textures from the wrong ""side"

for instance, instead of
"up":{"uv":[1,0,15,0],"texture":"#block","cullface":up}, // the top of the frame is getting the texture from the side image
this would be nice:
"up":{"uv":[1,0,15,0],"texture":"#top","cullface":up}, // top of the frame getting the texture from the top image.

As it is, you can change the top image all you want but it doesn't show up in the bits of the frame you can see from above

It's pretty clear this is just a bug, thanks for reporting it so clearly. I used the sea lantern frame for the jukeboxes.

The sea lantern is the first model I ever made and I only test the resource pack with the default look of minecraft. I also use code only, meaning I have to visualize the model in my head, which at the very start of this resource pack was hard.

All I'll have to do to fix this is fix some coordinations so that they aren't the same. As having "uv":[1,0,15,0] is not logical. Changing it to  "uv":[1,0,15,1] should fix it.

I think it's pretty clear to you that sometimes my brain doesn't want to cooperate in the process of making these models.

Nice to know some people actually study my code.

MamiyaOtaru

doing this all in code would get confusing for sure!  And yeah you would probably never notice with the default textures.

I only did because I was trying to assemble a 2d image of the block and my code was dying when I tried to take a 14x0 pixel subimage.  Obviously with your pack I could have just taken the block image whole since it ends up looking the same, but it was part of more general purpose code that was meant to work with any resource pack, where a single block might use different textures in different bits.

It did end up making my code more robust.  If a texture has 0 width I bump it out to 1. Keeps things from dying, but it's a bit hard to know in which direction to extend it!

Know2Good
Level 64
High Grandmaster Programmer

It's actually fairly easy to know what texture coordinates to use, but once again, the sea lantern was my first model ever. I never expected to end up with a 600 models resource pack that's still expanding.

I'm currently fixing the coordinates, removing unnecessary faces and perfecting the cullfaces (which were still using the old syntax, no wonder they would never have worked)
