8 March 2015 (V2.4.1) - Putting a band aid on it : 03/08/2015 10:51:40 am3/08/15

Most models contained in Default 3D are bleeding!

Bleeding models? What could that be?

Bleeding models/textures, shown in the first screenshot, have a small gap in between two faces of a polygon. These models look bad in general.
A model that doesn't bleed, shown in the second screenshot does not have this problem and appears to be of much greater quality. It also is a lot more soothing to play with.

Not sure if it can be edited, but it would be cool to have the lava/water be smoothed out when it flows so you don't see the clear lines of where it goes down.

Another question. Is it possible to improve the quality of the shells (on the gravel and stuff), because I think the quality of those is a little bit low, which makes them look a little less (especially since I use your texture pack in combination with a lot of 32x and some 64x faithful textures). Don't get me wrong, your pack is amazing, by far the best texture pack I have ever seen (I think I like it even better than faithful), I just don't like the quality on some textures. So anyway, can I just change the shell textures (and their quality) by editing the shell and shell1 files in the textures>custom folder? Or will it not work if I up the quality to 32x or 64x?

Custom textures are 16x16 by default (in my pack), they can't be changed by third party resource packs.

Encountered a slight problem with the ore textures: when I mine most of the ores, a part of the texture turns green at one of the 'mining stages', so to speak. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks in advance!

There are no significant errors regarding texture changes on my end, perhaps you could provide me with a screenshot.

Colors so change during the breaking animation of a block, that's normal due to the texture mapping. Those changes might look more big due to the 3D aspect of the blocks.

You're using a second resource pack, that pack is causing the green pixels.

Yes, I am taking some of your textures and putting them in my own resource pack (only for personal use). Do you have any friendly advice on how to get rid of the green pixels? Even though your pack is not causing the problem. Also, thank you for the help you've already given me. :)

I can't help you very much since I'm not familiar with the second resource pack you're using.

My guess is that it's the breaking animation texture, if not I don't know.

You were right, the destroy texture was causing the problem, I still don't know why though... I am using your pack in combination with faithful and some other textures.

My block destroy stages are a better quality than the default ones (32x). I discovered that the ore textures turn slightly green at the 6th destroy stage. So I deleted the better quality destroy stage 6, so that stage automatically turned into the default texture again. Now the ore doesn't turn green anymore.

However, I would really like to keep the higher quality destroy stages, because it looks a lot better. The ores don't turn green on any of the other destroy stages, just on the 6th one. So with this information, do you have any idea how I can fix this?

Thanks in advance!

That's normal, even with default those sides sometimes turn orange.

I think it's something hard coded into the game considering the textures themselves are black and white.

Know2Good, i love this pack and what you are doing with it, you have made me want to make a pack like it, i have BDcraft cubik pro (i hope thats what you are using) and there are a few things on your pack that would be some easy touch ups, but i also need to learn a few things for my self, i have tried doing 3d models of a sword and the textures have been a bit messed up. so i would like (hope) to work with you and share what you can change and what i am doing wrong!

Sadly enough, I don't Skype. I'm always up for increasing the quality of Default 3D though.

Perhaps you could share your wisdom regarding enlarging dropped items without enlarging the GUI items.
Returning the favor by helping you with your texturing problem seems like a fair exchange.

Can you do me a huge favor and take a look at this model I made for a Diamond Sword and tell me what you think? It's simple, but I would like your opinion on the style. It also has a custom texture.

It's a rather nicely designed sword, but it has fighting textures and is bleeding. The overal design is interesting though.

The gui display is strange though, it looks bended due to the rotation.

Just replace the texutre you're using with dirt for example, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Thanks for the help regarding displaying models, that's really helpful.
Edit Reply Delete
No problem, I'm glad I could be of service.

What do you mean there were fighting textures? I tested it in-game and I only noticed UV Bleeding, which I have yet to go back to the JSON file and fix it, it shouldn't take me long, considerring it's only composed of 18 Elements.
I suppose I never really paid attention to the rotation of the sword in the GUI. It was difficult to find a sweet spot in the rotations, so I just left it as it was.

Here you go, this is the settings in the JSON file for a random block model that I whipped up. Nothing special or significant at all other than to display the item settings.

can you get a virus protection on your website because everytime i click on the download link it leads to some virus website and its so annoying
Edit Reply Delete
You should be going to http://www.minecraftprojects.net/texture-packs/default-3d. The problem is not the website, it's on your end. And plus, it's not even his website, he just hosts the Resource Pack on it.
Edit Reply Delete
thats where im going though and i also dont have any viruses
Edit Reply Delete
Hmm... well I have absolutely ZERO malware protection, and I don't have any viruses. Are you actually able to download the file?

I love how you're redoing the tools!
Edit Reply Delete
Do the same thing with the rest of the tools like the sword and bow. That would fit these two new models. Or at least make them like sword and bow and make them as additional.

I totally agree I love the new model for the swords and I find it fits the default style better then the other tools design. I would also love to see the rest of the tools done this way. :D It is great to keep the other medels as optional.

Also with arrow to match bow.

What download button do I use? There's like 5 download buttons. Do I click the one that looks like Minecraft? I feel I'm going to wipe out this computer too with this website. I hate minecraftprojects.net.
Edit Reply Delete
Literally, this is my third computer because of the website. so many viruses. One says it's for cars when I highlight it, one says it's centertrust.xyz-something-default-3d. Is that it?
Edit Reply Delete
Download AVG protection at (http://www.avg.com/us-en/free-antivirus-download).
Whenever a website tries to sneak downloads (aka, download bar does not show at bottom) AVG automaticly removes it without giving a warning. Also does this for normal downloads with viruses.

who uses AVG pile a crap use malwarebytes (MBAM) and malwarebytes anti-exploit (MBAE) as from what you have said you moslikely went to a site that ran exploit code

MBAM have more uptodate databases than AVG by a mile

Main image: "Download links available under description"..

There is no need to exaggerate.

Please reconsider your computer's protection and clicking behaviour.
Edit Reply Delete
I understand that, but the button that CLEARLY says "Download default 3d" when I highlight it, says it leads to some car website, that isn't even probably a real car. Can you change the link to just downloading from PMC itself?

I fixed the advertisement overlapping the download link. Advertisements should not be able to interfere with the download links though.

A handy thing to know -- Next time an advertisement interferes, right click on the link and copy it's address, it'll take you to the download page.

For future problems, please contactt [email protected]. Advertisements are managed by the website operator, not me.

SEE? I just got a virus. What download button is it?

You seem to be the only (notable) person of almost 300.000 people that is not able to download this resource pack properly, even after more information had been provided and help had been given.

Please refer to the top of this conversation and work your way down.

I clicked every download button I saw, and none of them were right. Now I probably have a bunch of viruses. It's just not possible. Can you upload it to planetminecraft itself?

No i cannot. It's fairly reasonable to earn some money in  exchange for the time I put into this resource pack.

Again, it seems like you didn't read this whole conversation properly.

How do you fix the UV Bleeding? I use BDCraft Cubik Pro, and the UV bleeds all the time. I did not know there was even a solution to this problem.

The bleeding can only be fixed through altering the whole model's code.
Edit Reply Delete
In what way do I alter it? I can handle editing a JSON file, but I cant create a model from scratch that way xD

Changing each and every texture coodinate into a decimal one. :-)
Edit Reply Delete
So for instance, "uv": [ 16, 16, 0, 0 ] would be changed to "uv": [ 16.0, 16.0, 0.0, 0.0 ]?

If that is all it takes, then I think I might send in an Enchanting_Table_Base model. :)
