In the past I've been disappointed with the currency mods I've played. Maker's Mark adds item security and currency coining to Minecraft in a new way. Players can mark tools and design their own currency, but it wont be immediately obvious to all who has made these marks, players will have to investigate items to find out. Ideally it will encourage players to form governing bodies on Minecraft servers.

Now with Mailboxes, Leather "storage" Bags, and a Potion of Levitation!

The mailboxes are easily one of the best designs available. Is there any chance to get a creative only admin tool to set mailbox player names rather than using nbt editor?

Thanks! I posted about how you can make a public mailbox mostly because I though it was an interesting consequence of the way I implemented the mailbox's player system, so I'm not to keen on adding extra menus or items.

That being said, if your aversion is to launching an external program to modify a mailbox, I would suggest Minecraft's built in blockdata command. Just stand on top of a mailbox and use the command:

/blockdata ~ ~-1 ~ {makersmark.owner:{ID:"",Name:""},makersmark.name:"Mailbox"}

Have you ported the 1.8.8 to 1.8.9 or are you going to skip and just work on a 1.9 version? :D

My dev. environment is still setup for 1.8.9, once I finish the current update I will look into 1.9 (I think it should be a fairly easy update). I believe the 1.8.8 version works (99% at least) with MC1.8.9.

Please make a 1.7.10 version. I miss this mod . I used it back on 1.6.4. I was wondering why you skipped 1.7.10 when almost all mods are on this version still and alot of the popular mods are skipping 1.8 ? I would need 100+ mods to update to use 1.8 .

This was a very requested feature (but back porting the new Maker's Mark to MC 1.7.10 would be too much work). I ported the initial release (keep in mind it was made in a single week and lacks a lot of features added in 2.0) to 1.7.10. You can find the download here: hitchh1k3rsguide.com/makersmark

I really like the concept behind this mod. the only flaw is that its REALLY meant for server use.

and right now, theres now 1.8 plugins for land protection... meaning.. no 1.8 modded servers. :/

What we really need is a mod that offers land claim protection.

Wouldnt be that hard. Just create a block that when created...puts everyone in adventure mode when they get within the land area being claimed. and makes them go back into survival when they leave the area. :D the owner of the block could add new trusted players to his land area.
Bam.. Land claiming in MODD FORGE> meaning.. no need for plugins.. Just run a pure modded server.

WHy is NO ONE makeing a land protection mod for 1.7.2 or higher?

I've had some ideas for region protection in Forge/Minecraft... they are more thematic then a simple protection block though and would take a while to make. Maybe sometime in the future I'll look into this... but it's preatty far down on my list.
