This book is about an Amish teenage girl named Eliza Miller. When Amish children reach the age of 16, they have a 'rumspringa', where they get to run wild in 'our world'. When a woman asks Eliza if she would like to 'run wild' and be a nanny at her house, Eliza convinces her parents to let her go. Along the way Eliza uses a telephone for the first time, tries on a pair of jeans, goes to a movie theater, and gets her picture taken. Eliza was hesitant to get her photograph taken though, because the Amish believe that if you get a photo taken of you, it takes your soul. This book was very good, and I recommend that you read it. This isn't just 'a girls book', I believe boys should read it too. It was fun to read and learn about the Amish, while following a great, intriguing story.
Sorry again about missing cover art. My computer doesn't want to save files the right way, but when I get it fixed I'll update it.
