1.Moat:this is just a simple dry hole around your house with 2 blocks deep. add lava for more cruelity but watch out for fires.

2.noteblocks: make sure your sound is on, put a pressure plate infront and behind your door. attach it to noteblocks in every room. this may not prevent mobs but it will make you aware

3.self rebuilding wall: although this is very hard to build its really worth. by combining the cobblestone generator and the blinking redstone effect build the self rebuilding wall.

4.idiot door.: if you lived near the cliff make 2 houses. one is your real house and the other being the trap. make a home with a sign saying "get in for diamond" and in the house there is a door to another room. make the room a 1x1 and got no floor so they will fall off and die.

5.liquid wall:i figure this out when i went to my friends server. make 2, 1 deep hole around your house all attached to each other. in the first hole put a wall of lava and the second being water wall. the problem is i haven't figure out how to get out. some of my friend said that we could make a pool near the lave wall or make an underground corridor with an iron door and a button so that you only can go out.
