A day in the life of Minecraft (Short Story) Hey, Sniper gave me the idea of writing a little short story, so I decided to write one XD Here goes nothin! The sound of crackling flames was the girl's wakeup call as she slowly rose from her red-blanketed bed. She rolled her shoulders, feeling the suns warmth against her face as it slowly rose into the sky. The chill from the cobblestone walls was slowly fading as a nice pleasant warmth filled the room. Climbing out from her bed, the long-haired girl stretched and prepared herself for the long day ahead. Moving towards one of the chests, Amanda withdrew a few items here and there...a sword, a pickaxe, a few torches, a shovel...she made sure everything was ready before turning to the sleeping form of her wolf nearby. "Come on, Jazz, time to get back to work." The canine let out a low whine before lifting her head. A grin seemed to form over the pup's face as her tongue lolled out of her mouth and she trotted over to her master's side, letting out excited yips as she went along. "Good girl, come on." Amanda smiled and pat the wolf on the head, reaching in the chest and pulling out a raw porkchop. The wolf wagged her tail excitedly and gave another bark before the girl tossed the food right into its mouth. Jazz chomped on it and jumped around in excitement, ready to face the day. Packing a few more of the pork just in case, Amanda gave one more once-over of the place before nodding and throwing the door of her cobblestone house open. The warmth from the lava pits around her house gave her more comfort, and she watched as a skeletal figure collapsed to the ground, smoke trailing up from its form. The girl smiled in relief and made her way up the path towards her mine, hearing the excited barking of Jazz behind her. SSsssssssssssssttttttttt The girl turned her head just as a soulless green figure approached from the side. She let out a frightened cry of fear before an explosion tore through the area, sending her flying backwards to the ground. Hissing in pain, Amanda weakly lifted herself to her feet, Jazz whining next to her as she nudged the girl with her snout. The girl gave the wolf a shaky pat on the head before getting back to her feet, "That...was not fun..." Regaining her composure, the girl limped towards the mine, this time making sure no more creepers lurked around in the daylight. The torches that lined the walls revealed the way deep into the ground. Amanda followed the stairs that she had made, quickening her pace occasionally when she heard the groan of a zombie beyond the cramped walls around her. As she reached her mining area, she began to set to work, picking at the stone until it crumbled to the ground. She gathered the pieces in her hands, shoving it into her satchel before continuing her quest. It was an endless process...mine, place a torch, mine, place a torch, dig out gravel, place a torch. It wasn't the greatest job in the world, but it was how she survived. And really, it was quite addicting after a while. Amanda continued to dig through, unaware of what was up ahead.... (To Be Continued? XD tell me what you think and I may just keep going)
