     HELP SAVE OUR PLANET

Today's Earth day (just in case you didn't know) so I thought this would be a perfect time to tell you guys about the things I've been seeing. I know that this probably isn't related to Minecraft but this is very important and I want people to know about it. Lately at my school I have seen kids that are too lazy to walk to the trash can so they just let go of their trash. That's all. They just let go and watch it fly away, assuming that it won't hurt anyone if one piece of trash is floating in the air.

That's not the truth though. A fish or other sea creature could die because of that one piece of trash. We may not think about it that much, but one litle thing can change the world. Whenever you see a piece of trash on the ground just pick it up and throw it away. Just that one piece of trash could make such a big difference. This is our planet and if it wasn't here then we wouldn't be either. I think it's about time that we started taking care of it like it does for us.

If everyone who read this picked up a piece of floating trash then it would make the world a more beatiful place. Let's work together to make this happen. Comment below if you have picked up a piece of trash today and make the world a better place, one step at a time. :DA Rant About Saving Our Planet

(talking to the commentors here) Out of curiosity of the efectiveness of the blogs on PMC, has anyone gone out and picked up trash as a result of this blog?

(Sorry for going off topic xsparklezx)

Stuff like this often motivates people to do stuff like this for maybe a few days?
I'm not sure because it depends from person to person. I have always taken care of my own trash, but when i see other trash laying around i most of the time don't even really notice, many people are just not willing to pick up trash on the street sadly. I doubt that this blog on PMC changes a lot of things though, it sends a message and maybe some people will do things about it. But think about the PMC community and the age of most members, i'm certain that a lot of people will forget they read this blog by the end of next week.
Even if posted on a bigger social network, in the end it's the same message as always "Save the planet pick up trash! yay!" it doesn't really work effectivly

Well, I am going to go Even Further into Degree Business here, In theory all it takes is ONE person to start a Chain reaction. However in Practice it takes around 7 People. Therefore if 7 People in 1 Crowd of 500 Were to start Picking up litter the Rest would Follow suit. (See Chanting Examples, Mexican Wave Examples and Protesting Examples)

But this crowd is virtual, I witness no others picking up trash or even saying that they were inspired to do so. That being said, does this mean that blogs are a hugely ineffective way to preach? And therefore, is it a better use of time to just try and do such things by oneself (and maybe set an example for those who see) instead of attempting to rally others to do likewise in a blog? I suppose what I'm getting at is that I think, say, donating to a poor guy is a more effective way to ending poverty than proclaiming to others that we SHOULD give to the poor. Any links to some research related to this that proves or disproves my hypothesis would be appreciated.

Okay, I can Give you Virtual Examples too :P (dude I do this Kinda Debating thing for a Degree). For Example: E-Petitions, Where i Live a Huge E-Petition to Change the Roads was Started Online By a Small Group of People, and Many People also Joined this E-Petition. E-Petition Can Cause Early Day Motions.

RE: Your Poverty Comment, It takes more that ONE Person, However, if Every person was to donate to a person in Poverty, Poverty Would become less. Same with Cancer Research. If One Person donates a Quid It Helps, But not as Much as 20 People Donating a Quid.

Its Called Spill-Over and Compensational Thinking.

Spill-Over, When Person A Does action X, so Person B Feels Obliged to do the Same

Compensation, When Person A Does Action X, So Person B Feels like they Don't Have to.

In Overall terms Countries Re: Reducing Emmissions Opped for Compensational Thinking, As they could "Lose out" Money wise, as I explained Previously, But i will explain again, Being Enviornmentally Friendly requires improving effieciency, and Materials, so is Rather Expensive, so For Example if Country A and Country B are Both Producing Gas Energy, and Country A is "Green", it is More expensive to Country A to Produce the same Amount of Gas Country B.

Thanks Dude, Someone needs to Make this Heard.

Basically what has happened is the older Generations have Screwed up big time, Pollution is being caused by the Developing world More than the Developed world, because the Developed World Produced As much as they did. Although they found more efficient Methods to make fuel they are very expensive to Make. The Developed World Such as the US, and Western Europe are Putting Pressure on Countries such as the BRICs (Brazil, Russia, India  and China,) to Produce using these Effiecent Methods. Now this is a great Idea.... HOWEVER the BRICs cannot afford these Efficient methods, So they have to Produce the in efficient poisonous Products in order to Afford the, as the Richer Nations aren't willing to Give them FREE Assistance.

If that isn't Worse All Nations Refuse to go First in Cutting HUGE amounts of Carbon Emmissions, or Litter Fines/Punishments (good on You Slovakia for Doing it). No one wants to be First because they "lose out". If 5 of the Biggest Nations were to Not Emmit any Carbon Emmissions from Cars for the Next 2 Years it would help alot, But it means All Other Nations would have to Cut down Alot too.

What I have noticed is that the Shops Where I live that Charge for Bags etc Are still doing well. And infact most Young People are put off But Don't Complain. Its the Older Generation that Have the Biggest Complaint about it. Logic Behind that: They Apply, and I Quote, "The Bugger My Neighbour" Policy, (yes it is an Actual Name for a policy) In Which they Pass the Problems onto the Next Generation of Peoples. Goverments do the same.

The Policy is Bad.

So once again Good Job dude on this.

Your post is all over the place.
What do you mean no one wants to be the first to "lose out"?
At the moment there is no way that we can cut our emmissions to the point where we don't even emmit anything a all, there are not enough alternatives that we can reach to if we still want to keep the same efficincy  as we do now. (I know you mentioned cars, but we havn't reached the state yet were every country can produce electric cars or that public transport becomes the replacer.)
If were to cut all emmissions right now, a big part of the world would suddenly stop doing anything.
I'm not saying you are  wrong, and i too am someone who wished that everyone cared more about climate change and envoirement, but if you are doing this for a degree, i suggest you clean up your post, because it isn't making much sense at the moment.

Wow, I did not understand anything you just said xD
I totally agree that more people need to know about it and I have also seen that charging people for plastic bags is very effective. Instead of paying for the plastic bags more people are starting to bring their own bags, which helps out a lot. I can tell that you're going to be one of those people who change the world for the better :D Good luck!
