What's up guys! High five!?... No high five? That's cool I guess >.>
Anybean (yeah, it's a real word! Maybe...), I got home from holiday yesterday, so I haven't been able to scout through servers and post my opinions in the blog like I've done for the past 2 weeks. But I have something that will hopefully make you forgive me! (please?)
Today I have a server special (I got to use the title :D) blog, featuring an interview with the creators of the server! It's been up for a couple of months, but there is still loads for you to do on it! The server is called Minecraft4all, and the interview below hasn't been edit in any way. The creator interviewed is from the Netherlands (no, not the place with the netherrack and the ghasts), so his English may not be perfect, but who's is? Also, they are having a few errors that need fixing, and if you feel like helping, just PM me and I'll get you in contact with the creators (they need people who are experienced with Linux Quadcore servers).
What is the main goal of the server?
"Being the biggest server on minecraft.net. With lots of plugin's and much gameplay for a big public. You can see it just like the WoW gameservers. We wanna grow just like WoW. Every week a server update, error fixes and more. Every half year some version update."
How dedicated to the server are you?
"I [Razor15198] am the founder of the server, same with G_Susrecon. I do almost everything on the server, from server-scripting trough map-design. I do have learn myself the most things Linux, Java and minecraft servers. Just learned the lost months the fine's of the work by myself."
How many people do you expect the server to hold?
"I expect the server can handle 100 people, but when the 100 people is on the server and there will be lag, i'm gonna have to low the slots down. But, if the server can handle the 100 people fine, we upgrade the slots to more, with 10 slots the time. The server is designed with Quadcore and 8 GB RAM. If we get lot of donaters we can rent, or maybe later buy a better server, or build our own."
What genre is your server (PVP, Hardcore, RPG, Creative etc.)?
"Now the server is only PVP, Faction and Creative. 31 December 2011 there will be a version update with more functions like RPG, and much more stuff! We are hard working on the new map for the new version update, but we are with to low people to do it good. So we are searching for a few good builders."
How many staff members are online at most times?
"Staff members.. Hmmm... We have for now 4 full operator Administrators and we have link on the websitewww.minecraft4all.com were people can apply as Moderator. We have for now maybe 3 or 4 good moderators. When people apply at the website they will get the rank Citywatch. They can build thereself up to Army what the last rank is from Moderators. From there they can only get an admin if they can
behave themself to others and the other admins. So, if the Moderators does the work very well, they are able to get to be an Admin! Just a security check :)"
As Factions are on the server, will this just another old Faction server or is it special?
"We are not really special for now. But finally, if we get enough working people, we can do normaly work on it and we can grow. For now, again, i work alone on Server-side, so it's hard to grow in a fast time. We would gonna be a special server for everyone. Just because there will come a RPG (WoWlike) map on the server with quests, shops, and lot to do for people. So the people on our server don't have to sit still in the night, or have to build only in the server. They can do a lot more in a lot time. And if they become a platinum player, they will be able to have a own world were they can build with his own friends. There is, and surely will come, much to do."
Lastly, what do you think this server has to offer for the players?
"If they search for fun, sociability and lot's to do on a server, they have to come to us. If they search for laggy servers, no plugins and only build mode, they don't have to come to us. Just because we don't have lag. A Lag free server :)"
