Hello all,
I would like to speak to you today about a question I have been thinking about for a long time: are servers becoming "boring", repetitive, and just overall not fun anymore?
First off, I would like to say that in my opinion, yes. about 99% of servers have the same games on them: Survival/Hunger Games, Factions, and KitPVP come to mind. Some servers have different games on them, but now even those mingames have become mainstream. For example, Hide and Seek, Cops and Robbers, and Super Smash Mobs.
Very few servers have independent plugins for minigames. Cowboys and Indians (hivemc.eu), Tron/Litebikes (Shotbow), Dragons (mineplex), Dragon Escape (mineplex), Turf Wars (mineplex), and Mario Kart come to mind. And even then, most of these games have variants, including:
Super Smash Mobs (Super Craft Bros., Smash, MineSmash)
Hide and Seek (Blockhunt)
Hunger/Survival Games (Catching Fire)
Tron (Litebikes)
There is one game type that has "died out" throughout the ages of minecraft servers: CTF (Capture The Flag). This game mode is one of my favorite game modes because of the simplicity and strategy put into the game.
I know there are several reasons why servers are not getting "original" ideas (with the excpetion of mineplex), but I believe that soon enough, servers will start to become too boring, people will leave the server, and soon enough, end their Minecraft experience altogether. This may seem wuite drastic, but, as every game does, people tend to get bored of games, and quit playing them.
I hope that I have brought a spark to this topic, and I look forward to oyur feedback on this proposal.

Im Deveopling a Server that Has ALL of Hypixel, hive, mineplex, harry and herry, shotbow, exploding tnt server. ubercraft and mineplex's mini games on ONE SERVER:
this Server is Known as The Last Block Network or LBO for short.
it has 87 "repeative" mini games you seen on hypixel and mineplex and 48 NEW minigames never played by anyone yet.
we have the dropper (are own verison, and dropper race mini games and we have a roleplay server as well.
we plan to add new mini games and have all those ":boring minigames" as well we plan to have EVERY mc minigame possinle on are server and so far we have :)
say hello to mega quake, dropper races, flappy bird, battle ships, and 44 more new mini games all at my servers :D
Anyways we are waiting for 1.8 for the fact that new blocks and ai for mobs will help a lot of are plugins and new ideas
how did we do it? ill never tell :D
(hypixel has something similar as well to this)
