Prolouge - The day my life flipped upside down
"Anne, sweetie. I know its hard. Please- sweetie!!" My Mom yelled from the back door.
I ran through the tall, wet grass. The large raindrops splashing. I ran, tears streaming down my face.
That morning I lost my sister. I lost everything I ever had. I held onto the amethyst pendant that was given to me on my birthday, 2 weeks before she left me.
I stumbled onto my knees. My jeans wet and stained from the grass and rain.
I laied down in the tall, wet grass, crying. I miss her too much. I thought to myself.
I can't believe she left me. I can't believe it!.. I won't believe it!

Chapter one - A good day?
(This chapter took place 3 months after the loss)

I woke up on the hard-wood floor. "uh-" I sat up, rubbing my back. How the hell did I get down here? I thought to myself, standing up and walking towards my dresser. I opened up the drawer pulling out a black tee and some old, pink, jean shorts
that I dyed with my older sister. I smiled, happy my Mom didn't throw them away. After I got dressed, I headed through the cramped hallway into the living room. I stopped to see no one was in there. Weird... I peeked out the front window. I saw that my Moms car had already left.
Out of the corner of my eye I noticed a note on the door. Walking over I grabbed it, and started reading it outloud to myself. "Had to get some
groceries. I made your lunch and left it in the fridge. Your backpack is still in your room. Hope you have a good first day of school! Love, Mom."
I headed back into my room, grabbing my backpack and ran into the kitchen, grabbing my lunch. I mumbled to myself as I walked out the front door, locking it.

I got to school around the normal time. At least I wasn't late.I scanned
the courtyard full of kids, sighing I headed over to an older group.
"Hey- uhm. What do I.. do here, exactly.- Like.. uhm- what should I do."
I sighed, noticing how stupidly awkward I
sounded. One of the girls
in the group answered. "Well I guess you just wait here until the
teachers call you inside." Then she laughed, taking her phone out.
Seemed like she already forgot I was there. "Thanks.." I mumbled,
walking off. After about half an hour of sitting, and waiting. One of
the adults yelled out "Alright, everyone please head to the gym!" I got
up, swinging my backpack over one shoulder and following
everyone.
"Line up to the left if you're in 8th grade!" The voice yelled, again. I
shuffled over to the left. I sighed, as a woman, most likely a teacher,
walked up to me. "Uhm... Hi?" I said, in a quiet voice. "Did I do
something wrong...?"
"Oh no. I just came over here to ask if you're in

the right group." The woman asked me, in one of those unbelieveable tones of voice.
I sighed. "Yes, I'm in the right group. I'm just new
here and its my first time being in middle school. Alright?"
The woman rolled her eyes, turned and walked away. Probably thinking I was one of
those stupid kids that didn't know what anything was. I stumbled along
with the line of 8th graders. I walked into the school and down some
stairs into a large gym. I sat down. Glancing around, I saw parents
standing at the back of the gym, smiling and waving to their kids that
actually loved them. From what my sister told me, all of the middle
& highschooler kids hated the thought of being with their parents.
Its too.. 'childish'.
But I remember she always supported me and
Mom. She stood by us, and made sure everyone at her school knew she was
a 'childish' high-schooler. I heard a microphone screech, and a mans
voice started talking. "Hello, everyone. I'm your principal, Mr. Adams.
Welcome back to Central Middle School, for short CMS. If you're new
here, welcome to CMS."
He continued talking for what seemed like hours. Finally, we were dismissed.

I waited outside the schools main entrance until I saw my Mom's small, silver car. I hopped in.
"How was your day, Anne?" My Mom asked. "It was pretty good. How was
getting groceries?" I sat in the front seat of the car, putting my
seatbelt on a shoving my backpack in the back of the car.
"Oh, well, it was boring as ever."
My Mom said, laughing. I laughed with her. We talked
for a bit, what to have for dinner, what I was doing tomorrow for
school. All that sort of stuff.
We got home, my Mom parked the car in the small driveway. She passed me
the keys as I left her car. I headed towards the door, unlocking it. I
walked inside Taking my shoes off, I headed to the kitchen to clean
out my backpack. I washed the small, plastic food container my Mom gave
me and put it aside to dry. After I finished, I sat down and watched TV
for a while.
My Mom finished dinner an hour later. We both ate
quietly at the kitchen table. Watching a movie together, and just having
a good day.
