Uh, they didn't quit because of the 1.8 changes, they quit because they were rocked off that they had been providing Mojang with free labor for the past 2 years and didn't know it.

The main point is not who is left.... People that left and are leaving is showing how people have lost heart with Bukkit. Even plugin developers are leaving. Bukkit is on the way out. Sponge is the future.
