Since Minecraft had been bought by Microsoft, they have made some very controversial decisions. They're screwing over the PC edition so badly. They've denied this and they keep denying it, but now they have completely confirmed it with this:
This is the new logo for the Java Edition of Minecraft. It's something we have to live with now. This is the official separation of Minecraft. I don't know why they are trying to sweep the original Minecraft version under the rug and replace it with this:
They are trying to replace Minecraft with this. Since Minecraft was sold, we have been getting some very questionable updates that we didn't ask for. Like, who asked for llamas? We don't need llamas. They also said that the color update was going to be the last big update, which is really sad. The next update is just going to be a clean up with new textures and some bug fixes.
Minecraft has been done bad by Microsoft, but there is one thing in question, can we fix it? Or are we beyond the point of no return? My opinion is that we could still fix this. I have no idea how to yet, but we could find a way. When Microsoft first bought Minecraft, people had problems because most of the games that Microsoft bought was ruined by them, but there's one difference with Minecraft. People still play it. All those other games that Microsoft bought have been forgotten about, games that had a lot of potential, but now no one knows them. It's a different story with Minecraft. Even though Microsoft are making bad decisions, we still play it. Microsoft keeps making Minecraft worse because they know we can tolerate it and would still play it. It's kind of like other companies. Disneyland for example, they bump up the prices for their tickets. Everyone was mad, but it didn't ruin the business because people still bought them. This is how Microsoft is ruining Minecraft.

if minecraft is really ruined, we can rely on the modding community, although quality mods are rare
How is Microsoft ruining Minecraft exactly? They added Java edition to the Java edition?
The fiends!!
As a server owner for the past year i have noticed how its not always straight forward trying to get a mods current version, and i quickly learned about the DMCA that fell upon bukket some years back, which as far as i know has never been fully resolved, instead they found a workaround with spigots buildtools.
Now Its been awhile since I have looked at this stuff but from what i remember, mojang never had a problem with its code being in bukkit and that the DMCA i think came about through someone who had worked on the bukkit dev team, and once brought to the attention of mojang not much could be done.
anyways after struggling to figure out what happened and noticing what was happening to the versions of minecraft, i started to think that maybe there trying to kill the java version and phase in the C++ version of the game, one major reason THEY CAN CHARGE FOR TEXTURE PACKS, MODS, PLAYER SKINS, etc. and with minecraft theres alot of players to spend money on a almost infinite possibility of textures.
I really feel like microsoft wants to kill the modding community, which has never been the same since the DMCA that damaged it so long ago.
and now this C++ version (console, pocket edition, windows 10) is written much more efficiently so it runs much better than its java counterpart, while the java version is ignored,
also because the games written in C++ its much much harder to write and create mods for it, unlike the java version thats alot easier to do so for.
theres more to this and i could go on but bottom line, I think they want to Kill modding, we prob will never see a modding API for minecraft, they already have a store where you can buy player skins, tectures, etc. but there is no way or option to use player made textures, or skins. just the ones you can buy, they dont want a community like PMC making thousands of skins and textures for free that could otherwise be sold for 1-2 $ a pop.
Who knows the DMCA could have even been planned out.
whats your opinions?
Toys, pram, out.
End of.
Plus, Microsoft isn't forcing Mojang to put ANYTHING into the game, they just over see it :)
