Chat Needs A Makeover?

Personally, i believe that at the moment chat is a mess (Not to be rude, but it honestly needs sorting out). Whenever i enter the chat room theres ATLEAST one spammer in the room. In addition to this, theres barely anyone on! Also, its rather hard to view who's saying what. Its quite hard to get your voice heard. These are the major reasons why i believe chat needs a makeover, let me elaborate on these reasons...

Spamming

Its quite hard to go into a room without someone spamming. As soon as i enter one room, i am bombarded with pictures, and emotions of TNT, Creepers and fire. What purpose does this serve to the community? I'll tell you, none. It causes newbies to the site to instantly stereotype the site, and i know there are some intelligent people on this website. With all the spamming, it push's your text up so that you have to scroll up to read something you wrote 10 seconds ago. Which is quite frankly annoying. Sure we can ignore them, but then we have to ignore every single spammer, and i dont want to keep clicking there name and pressing ignore. So their are 2 solutions to this problem, 1. when users see a spammer, they can send a 'warning' to them, and if they get X number of warnings, they can be banned for say, 30 minutes of time. And the time keeps going up by 5 minutes. Of course theirs the possibility this system can be abused, and if this happens, maybe users can screenshot the misuse and send it to a mod, in which appropriate action can be taken. However, that idea isn't flawless, so here comes my second idea. We can have the ability to create separate private chat rooms that require a password, so users can share information without getting spam bombed. Of course, trolls can create multiple rooms, which is another problem, which can be solved with a simple rule, if no one is in a chat room, the room is automatically removed. Now for my second reason...

Uhm Hello?

When i go into a chatroom, theres only 15-5 people on, now sure you may say well thats quite alot. Well compared to what I just looked at, its not. I checked just now, and theres 13 people in the chat room, and 1,951 people online, this means that for every 150 people online, only 1 person goes on to chat. Now seriously, that is quite low. I believe that if chat does get a revamp, it needs to be better promoted. Now you might argue that if 30+ people where in one chat room, it would get overcrowded? And yes, i do agree with that statement, however referring back to my other statement, we can have separate chat rooms, reducing chat spam tremendously. Now for my third and final reason...

Did you say something?

In chat, it's pretty hard to get yourself heard, unless your directly talking to someone and there looking out for what you say, chances are it will go by unnoticed, and then be deleted in chat history. I believe there are 2 reasons for this: 1. Spammers (Already spoken about) and 2. Unclear Layout. Lets be honest, the only people i can actually see clearly are moderators and the PMC bot (which should be optional). Sure i can make my text bold, italic, green, blue, turquoise, but i dont want to do that just to say a few words. So how can we solve this? Simple, like i've been saying for the first 2 reasons, chat roomS, and i think i've talked enough about them.

So i hope you've enjoyed reading my blog, if you don't agree with it, comment below and express your opinions, and if you do agree with it, still comment. Anyway, thanks for reading!

Cyprezz will add more chatrooms when needed. And we don't want normal users to stand out over Moderators.

True, i understand Moderators need authority over normal users, but you have to agree you can feel a bit ignored as a new user.
