I rounded the corner and stopped.
The Drunk Buck. I had gone in a circle around the city.
I waved my fist at it in frustration and headed in a different direction.
I crossed into an alleyway and kept on walking, ignoring the steam floating around like fog.
"Hey, you," I turned around and found that there were three kids in the street behind me.
I turned again. Two more. I was surrounded.
"What do you want?"
One of them stepped towards me. I drew my sword.
"Oh, you want to fight, do you?"
They all drew slingshots. I looked around, noting my surroundings and what my opponents were prepared with.
A box, a pipe spewing steam out and a barrel.
To a side, a little ways upwards was a balcony. A plan formed in my head.
I grabbed the box, jumped onto the barrel.
Stones flew past me as I jumped onto the pipe and dropped the box, jumping from it to the balcony and down behind a group of them.
"Behind you!"
Too late. I had killed one of them already and swung my sword to hit the other, but he ducked.
I jumped, went vertical and slammed into his head, and as I went backwards, propelled by the impact, I stabbed his buddy, falling to the ground as stones cracked on the wall, missing me by mere inches.
I sped from there as fast as I could, rounding the corner out of the alley just as they launched another volley.
