I took a deep breath as I placed my first obsidian block. "4 by 5, 4 by 5," I whisper to myself. I am about to make a portal. To escape my world. To escape reality. To the Nether. I start to have second thoughts about my descions, but I shrug off the thought as I place my second obsidian block.

It felt like a year had passed until the frame had been done. Even though it would normaly take 20 seconds, my nervous and anxious feelings mixed together to create a nightmare that lasted minutes. But I just had to do it. 

I took out my flint and steel. I don't approach it yet. 

"Should I do it?" I think to myself, "Should I put myself in open danger to escape?" I think and think. Every time I approach the portal I have second thoughts. I get closer and closer, until after 20 minutes I am arms-length from the obsidian. I feel the edges of the obsidian. I light the portal on fire, and I see the purple void appear in the frame. But I don't jump in yet. This is the time I make my final descision. I have a thousand flashbacks all at once. My life flashes before my eyes. I cover my eyes.

"I saw too much...I understand all of it now..."

And I jump in the portal.
