I have seen many people complaining about Jeb and wanting Notch back and I just can't agree with them.


Common complaints:

1. Jeb is turning minecraft to rpg: It's true that there are little rpg elements but in my opinion those are nice additions and most of those were added back then when Notch was in charge. What turns game to rpg? Horses? XP? Enchanting? Potions? Those features might be common on roleplaying games but those alone won't make roleplaying game. Common criteria if wheter the game is "RPG" is storyline.


2. Jeb adds things that doesn't fit to theme of minecraft: There is no actual theme in minecraft and that's why I like the game. Jeb knows Notch and works with him and still community thinks that they know " the will of the great Notch" or "The theme of minecraft" better than him.


3. Jeb steals mods: They have rights to use mods and if the mod is good then it might deserve to be in vanilla minecraft. And isn't that like dream of every modder to get their mod implemented to vanilla?



It's really annoying to see people saying "Notch wanted minecraft to stay in 1.7 beta"



Don't get me wrong I think Notch is great for making core of minecraft but still I don't see him as any better than Jeb. If Notch wouldn't have left I don't think that updates wouldn't have been much better.


Give Jeb some respect. He makes great free updates (I'm not saying he makes them alone). And he doesn't make them just to get blamed for every single thing he added or didn't add.
