Just to make it clear, I suck at art... so Ignore how crappy the picture is :3
How I look at server staff members:
First, lets start with Owner. Owner is... well, the owner of the server... On just about every server I have been on, the owner does pretty much NOTHING. Most of the time, the owner just flies around in creative mode, bothering people, and when someone asks for help, they usually ignore them. The owner likes to walk around like they can tell people what to do... not giving them an option. Not every owner is like this though, there are a lot of good servers where the owner actually helps out, but there are way more servers with owners like this!
Now, lets move on to co-owner. On every server I have been on, except one, the co-owner was pretty much the one keeping the server together, And I am not saying that because I'm co-owner on two servers. For example, on those two servers, I designed and built spawn (With little help) and recommended useful plugins that the server needed. Anytime someone asks for help a co-owner is happy to help, even if they have to stop what they are doing.
Next is Operator, or Op. Ops usually make sure the admins are doing as told, and help people if they need something. Operators like to help people if they need it, but usually don't stop what their doing if someone needs help. Operators are a major help to servers, even though some like to abuse their power.
Now for Admin. Admin is the ones who usually check grief more than anyone else, and ban players who grief or break the rules. Admins usually like to help people, and most of the time are humble. Some admins like to abuse their powers as well though.
Finally, Moderators. Moderators usually keep peace on servers and assist the admins. Moderators are nice, and like to help people as much as they can. Moderators are probably my personal favorite rank for being nice most of the time. The only way to make a moderator be mean, is getting on their bad side. Most people under-estimate moderators, and usually end up punished for disrepecting them.

And there, I am actual doing mostly everything, from terraforming, to building, to redstone, to plugins and I am paying for it.
The co-owner has made a market stall, and that is all.
A terraformer has made a single mountain top.
And I friend of my is trying to learn to build.
