Hello, I am here today to talk about some recent chatter on how the new servers are going to “adapt” or “co op” with new EULA changes.
First off let’s talk about the difference between a “donation” and “payment/purchase” A donation is where you donate to a cause and receive nothing. When you buy something or purchase something from somewhere/someone you receive an item tangible or not it does not matter! This is why many of the big(er) servers don’t call it donating, but rather a “server shop”. So let’s say there is a package called the “extreme rank” and you receive 64 diamonds for 25$ while a regular member who has to purchased a rank has to work to earn the diamonds, so pretty much P2W.
You will be able to continue to do this until August 1st, and if you’re a big server owner and still selling in-game items that can give an advantage in gameplay, legal action could be taken against you!
But what happens after August 1st? Well there are a few options.
1. You could just simply add a donation goal and when that is meet add a server wide bonus like 2x exp, but please note that even players who did not donate also have to get the bonus. It may affect you server negatively short term, but could help it grow in the long run(No P2W).
2. When people donate/purchase a rank they get a prefix plus maybe colored chat.
3. The last option would just be let players donate if they feel like it and receive nothing (what a donation is) this is great for smaller communities.
You could also merge 1 and 2 into one so you have a goal plus the donors get a special cosmetic feature.
These are just some ideas that I had and you guys are free to expand to this, actually please expand to it if you think of some better ways.
