Getting Started

Well you have two options to chose from when you spawn. You either get some wood and build yourself a shelter or you go and find some rubber trees. It doesn't matter which one you choose but no matter what you still need some rubber. A good way to find rubber trees is to get some type of material and build a straight tower like structure and make sure your graphics are set to fast not fancy.

Next you want to just look around with at least normal render distance. Just look around until you spot the funky tree that still has fancy leaves and has a couple leaves sticking out of it. Next you craft a tree tap to collect the resin that should hopefully be on the tree you found. After you collect it destroy the tree and hope you get some saplings. Next go to your shelter and plant the saplings and start yourself a little tree farm. Next you want to go mining to get some of the ores like, copper, tin, sapphire, emerald, ruby,DIAMOND and some Gold. You want to take a stone pickaxe,a sword(assuming your not playing on peaceful)a stack of wooden planks, furnace, and a crafting table. After a couple of minutes you should have some stuff. Instead of smelting some iron you should just craft a gem pickaxe(sapphire etc.) It is faster and lasts longer(I think). Now go get some more ores!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also try to get as much redstone as you can.

Once your done and back at your house you should make a generator so you can power some of your basic machines. Next should come is a electric furnace, then a macerator or extracter. The Electric furnace smelts stuff faster then a regular furnace. The Macerator turns 1 ore into 2 dust which can each be smelted into whatever the material is that you macerated. The extractor gives you 3 rubber for each resin you put in. Your macerator should be one of the first things you build so you can get more value from your ores. This will help you from not having to go mining again for a little while and it is also a good way to start your Tekkit world.

Tutorial : Making Diamonds With Coal

A good way to get diamond if you didn't happen to find any while you were mining is to make them using a macerator and a compressor. So if you mined all the coal you found while you were mining then this is when they come in play. Macerate the coal into coal dust. You are also going to need some flint. Now you take your coal dust and flint to a crafting table. Place the coal dust around the outer edges of the 3 by 3 crafting grid. Arrange them as you would a chest. Next place the flint in the middle and you should get a Coal Ball. You will need about 8 coal balls. next you need to compress them using your compressor. Now you should have a compressed coal ball. Now you going to need some obsidian. Your going to need a Diamond Pickaxe now to get it. Or a better way is to use a block a brick instead of obsidian cause it doesn't require a diamond pickaxe. If you still want to want to use obsidian then you can. If you don't have any diamond then you need to go and find AT LEAST 3. Once you make a Diamond Pickaxe you should now go get the obsidian. Now you need to about 8 compressed coal balls. Go to your crafting table and place the compressed coal balls like you would to make a chest and place a block of obsidian, bricks or Iron Block in the middle. You should now get a Coal Chunk. Now compress the Coal Chunk and then you get diamond. A good way to keep your coal supplies up is to make a philosopher stone and to start a tree farm. You should smelt the wood into charcoal and turn it into coal by using the
philosophers stone. Once you get a good amount of diamonds you should make some energy collectors and a energy condenser. Place your coal or flint in the so you can start producing some more coal balls. You can set up a process that pumps it out and macerates it then crafts it into coal balls then does the rest of the process.

Machines
Recycler- A machine that has a chance to turn anything into scrap. Takes 35 EU per operation. At least 2 EU/t for continuous usage. Excepts up to 32 EU/t anything higher will cause it to explode.

BuildCraft Engines

Redstone Engines- The slowest of all the engines.Although they do not explode making them useful for long tasks. They go really fast as they warm up.Great for pumping things out of chest since they only require a redstone current. Steam Engines- They are the second fastest of the engines. They require a fuel source such as coal or wood and other things similar. They can explode after a while of use. Work great for powering a quarry.
Combustion Engines- The fastest of all the engines. They Require a liquid type of fuel such as Oil,Refined Oil, and Lava. You can put water in them so it does not overheat as fast as they do. This are good for powering a Quarry and refining oil.

Thanks for reading diamond if you like Comment if you have any suggestions.More and More to Come

no offense but i dont think making diamonds with coal, it takes way too long. unless your on a server where they are banned making a condenser and just putting random crap in is easier.

This could use more organization and detail. Tips such as these are MUSTS for any noob guide:
1. Unless necessary, don't smelt your ores until you have a macerator.
2. Save coal and use charcoal for fuel and torches; 64 coal can be processed into possibly your first diamonds with just a basic machine setup. This leads to a mining turtle which leads to loads of goodies.
3. Stone halberds are superior to their sword counterparts.
