How To Get Started

  • Figure out what type you want this pack to be. Examples: Realistic, goofy, OCD, random, etc.
  • Locate your minecraft.jar, right click it and select "open with", then "archive utility". A folder called Minecraft should appear. Right click, then select "get info" then rename it minecraft.jar instead of minecraft. Open the folder. Lots of files should be there. find "terrain.png and open it using a picture editing/drawing program. All the minecraft blocks should appear. You draw on them, minecraft will change. A good idea might be to copy that terrain file and paste it somewhere else to edit it, switching the two out whenever you want. I suggest a much easier way. Download the pre-made folder, put it in the "texturepacks" folder in your minecraft directory, and turn it on ingame whenever you want.
  • You can also edit the items and armor with the file "minecraft.jar,GUI,items."
  • There are many other things you can change, including:
  • The Minecraft menu logo.
  • The Mojang logo.
  • The panorama on the menu.
  • The sun and moon.
  • The inventory design
  • What the texture pack picture in the option in the menu is.
  • The possibilites are endless!
  • Enjoy!
