Do YOU have BAD FPS?!?
Do YOU not know how to deal with it?!?!

Well, follow these four easy steps and you'll be playing smoother, faster and more efficiently in no time!

Extra note: most of these steps require a Windows computer/laptop!

Step One: Installing OptiFine

Personally, I use a laptop and laptops suck with Minecraft, right?
Well if you use OptiFine your FPS will be up in no time!

Most people know about this mod from that awesome zoom add-on, but that's not all it contains. This mod has more video setting functions, helpful resizing of fullscreen mode, and chat resizing.

Link to OptiFine here (To install just double click on the .jar file and it will automagically install it).

Step Two: Changing your Video Settings

Normally the main reason your FPS is not as high as it should be is that the video settings are too high;

a. Start off by setting the render distance down to below 8 chunks if you feel it is necessary.

b. In the 'Quality' section (Making sure you have Optifine installed) pop your Mipmap Levels and Anistropic Filtering settings off- this will make some details such as signs harder to read from a distance, but it will help a bit.

c. In the 'Details' section (If you're still having trouble) turn clouds off, put Trees and Water to fast, and do everything else you find insignificant for your playing experience.

Step Three: Task Manager

Sorry Mac users, this step is not for you.

Now some people know what Task Manager is- a function on Windows computers opened with Ctrl + Shift + Esc that lets you force shutdown your open applications without the computer complaining.

Now what you want to do is go to the section 'Processes' and find something along the lines of 'javaw.exe'. You want to right click on this and hover over 'Select Priority', then choose 'high'. This will make your computer put most of its effort into Minecraft therefore getting more FPS.

Step Four: Those extra tweaks

Now all that's left is the small things;

• Close all other programs you don't need on.
• Don't have the FPS and coordinates stats on all the time (toggle with F3)
• Install the latest update of Java

And that's it!

Thank you for taking your time to read this and hopefully this will make your Minecraft experience better and easier with no annoying lag!
