Welcome to How to Make Epic Logos. This will teach you how to make a good logo for your PMC submission.
1. Download and install GIMP
You can find GIMP at gimp.org.
GIMP is an image editor that has many features including but not limited to:
Gradient Flares
Lens Flares
Renders
Special Effects
Perspective Editor
GIF Animations
2. Find and Install Around 10 Cool Fonts
Fonts are one of the things that makes or breaks your logo. Pick the right font and you're good. Pick a bad font and you're doomed. You can find fonts on dafont.com. To install a font open your hard drive. Then click Windows. Finally drag your font into the Fonts folder.
3. Make a New Project in GIMP
To make a new project open GIMP and then click file. After clicking file hit new and make the width and height 400. Finally hit OK.
4. Pick a Cool Render
To pick a render click Filters. Then click Renders and find one that you like. Experiment with them and make it perfect. It helps if the render is colorful. Once you have a good render move on to step 5.
5. Add Words
To add words to your logo, press the T button. Then click where you want the text to go. Select a font and size. Type what you want the title of your submission to be(Note you may need to make the text box bigger to do this just drag the rectangles outside of the text box). After you do this you can play around with the move rotate and perspective tools. Once you have the title down do the same thing under it except instead of the title type "By: ". After you have this down move on to step six.
6. Add an image
To add an image to your logo you can use Google Images finding find something you want. Once you find it, right click the image and select save as. Save it somewhere you will be able to find it. After that go back to GIMP and select file. Then click open as layers and open the image you saved. You should use the move tool to put the image where you want it and use the rotate tool to make it look nice.
7. Add a flare(optional)
To add a flare you must select the render layer by clicking it in the Layers Box. Then you go to filters. Once in filters you have to click light and shadow. Then click gradient flare. You can mess around with the settings here until you get something you like. I think it looks good if the flare is in a corner but that's just me.
8. Exporting
To export your image you have to click file. Then click export to. Last, save it to a location where you can easily find it when you upload it to your submission!
