Hello, I guess your ready to end your boring life of trying to use Hamachi and playing on other server, but you always wanted start your own but never had the time or money. Well read on and your problems will be solved! We will be using Alternos to make your free server. But first I have to say the catch. It won't be 24/7. That's all. You even get to put plugins in it. So even though it's not 24/7 you still have a wide vertiety of minecraft modpacks you can make it.
Oh and one other thing, you can only go up to 10 players. Which isn't that bad.
Anyway now let's get to the tutorial.
1) Go to this link: Click Me To Go To The Link
2) You should be at the homepage, it looks like this:
3)Once your here you have to register.
4) When your done registering and have logged in; it is time to make your server!
5) First click on the small icon by your account username to the top right. You will see this.
6) Once you click create server you will be brought to a page like this.
7) This is where you can manage your server, you will see everything from console to ops to whitelist.
8) Once you are done messing around with your setting, hit the green start button.
9) Congratulaions! To your left you will see your server ip.

This is because too many other people are online and their servers are up as well. Alternos will let you know if your sever is down by showing you a red message to the bottom right of your screen.
