My old city, recently abandoned due to lack of creative drive, and well. It was crap.
I'll start with the origins of this. I started this back in 2014, picked it up in 2015, and then picked it up in 2016. I started with a brick hotel, which had no depth, no features, and a rubbish interior. At the time, I thought it was really good.
Then the boat port, gosh it was awful. The area I was starting was meant to be a transport hub, and was next to the sea so I thought, why not? It use ONE material, no depth, and again rubbish interior. It didn't make sense either since all the other transportation things weren't usable.
Then the Kesslebrook, that horrid brick 'restaurant'. I'm most ashamed of this one since it was built earlier this year. It had no character, was tiny, and made f all sense.
The station was terrible. No planning was put it place, and winging it wasn't great. It turned out a s hole. Used the same combination of brick and such, and the train design was truly awful. Not a scratch compared with the trains I've made now.
The shops, well those speak for them selves, not to mention the road.
There were things I did like though, like the apartment with the blue stream running up and down. My best build of a house to date, even though it had space constraints, and other issues with it. And although now I think the trams were to small, I did like them.
The green apartments were meh, didn't know how to apply the green to the white side.
The point of this post is for you to avoid the same mistakes I made, avoid them at all costs. Please plan, plan, plan, and make sure you have the design available from copy and paste if possible. Don't make the same mistakes I did.
